Learning how to use guitar bends and guitar slides in your playing will help you sound more professional
Ever wanted to be able to do a guitar bend? how about guitar sliding properly? You may never have heard of the guitar bending or string bends before. It's all part of the next progression in your playing I like to call your phrasing development. This is the part of the guitar course where you learn a few tips and tricks to make your playing sound more professional. Many people get stuck playing just notes and you can get a long way with this but you will pretty soon lack individuality and your playing can sound very stale. Guitarists use all sorts of cool techniques and tricks to create their own unique Phrasing. Phrasing just means "The way you play something" and in the next few lessons I'm going to show you some of the most popular techniques that can really help your phrasing. The first being The Slide. A guitar slide is the action of placing the finger down on the starting note, and without releasing it glide up the fret board to the target note. you get a kind of smooth flowing line that sounds pretty cool when used in your playing. I show you how you can develop this and it's important to remember that you need to be able to do your guitar sliding across all your fingers not just 1 or 2. You never know when you might need to do a guitar slide.
