Skirmishes between Egyptian protesters and police continue into the morning with volleys of teargas.
Hundreds were injured Saturday when police tried to break up a small sit-in in Tahrir Square.
The demonstrators have fought to stay in the square since Friday's protest, demanding an end to military trials and a more rapid transition to a civilian government.
Islamists were also out in force Friday protesting what many believe is the government's attempt to curb their influence on a new constitution.
The violent clashes in several cities have killed at least two people and could jeopardize parliamentary elections scheduled to begin on November 28.

"We will not leave this place until we achieve our demand - the demand of Egyptians and the demand of the revolutionaries - which is the transfer of power to a civilian presidential council."
In the Mediterranean city of Alexandria, protesters gathered outside a security building, chanting against the Interior Ministry.
Those in Suez threw rocks at a local police station.
During the uprising against former President Hosni Mubarak early this year, police and state security buildings became frequent targets as hated symbols of a corrupt regime.
