Supporters and opponents of Egypt's President Mohamed Mursi clashed early on Sunday (January 27) in Zagazig, northeast of the capital Cairo, as street violence intensified.

Security forces fired teargas canisters to break up the clashes between the demonstrators and supporters of the Muslim Brotherhood - Mursi's political party.

Sunday's violence followed two days of clashes which began on Friday (January 25), the eve of the second anniversary of Mubarak's ousting.

At least 32 people were killed on Saturday (January 26) when Egyptians rampaged in protest at the sentencing of 21 people to death over a soccer stadium disaster. That violence is compounding the political crisis facing Mursi.
