My friend Graham Smith along with his mate Chris Sullivan have a new book being published -- 'We Can Be Heroes -- (Punks, poseurs, peacocks and people of a particular persuasion) -- London Clubland 1976-84.'
It's based around 450 photographs that Graham took at nightclubs back in the day, from Billy's and The Blitz via Le Beat Route and the Mud club to the Dirt Box and the Wag. The vast majority never seen before.
Chris Sullivan has written a brilliant warts 'n'all main text. Robert Elms an introduction and Boy George, Gary Kemp and Steve Strange have all contributed forewords.
Beautifully designed over a stomping' 320 pages, it's a personal record of this fascinating and influential period of youth subculture, produced by people who were actually there in the thick of it.
I'd thoroughly recommend it especially with Christmas not that far away
