Crystal Clear Vision's Honduras Community Eye Hosptial
At Crystal Clear Vision, we decided that part of our mission would be to provide year-round eye care services for people in need in the country of Honduras.
Preventing blindness, whether it be through providing basic vitamins or by performing cataract surgery, which we take for granted in North America, is a significant component of our mission. It is hard to imagine being nearsighted and having no access to basic vision care and glasses, but that is exactly what many people around the world must struggle with. In May 2011, we were joined by thirteen University of Alabama optometry students. Over a four-day period, they were able to see over 700 patients providing 550 with glasses. With the opening of the Crystal Clear Vision Community Eye Hospital, we will be able to help and care for thousands of more people over the coming years.
