Pakistan has test fired a short-range nuclear missile at an undisclosed location. The missile is expected to carry out nuclear as well as conventional warheads with high accuracy.

On Friday, Pakistan test-fired a nuclear-capable, short-range, surface-to-surface missile.

The Hatf-2 ballistic missile can travel up to 110 miles.

In a statement, the military said the Hatf-2 can carry nuclear as well as conventional warheads with high accuracy.

The missile was test-fired at an undisclosed location. Chairman of the U.S. Joint Chiefs of Staff, General Shamim Hyder Wyyne, senior officers from the armed forces and scientists and engineers attended the event.

Pakistan carried out nuclear tests in May 1998, just days after similar tests by India.

The two carry out missile tests regularly and Friday's exercise was not expected to lead to any increase in tension between them.
