Ten years ago Miami native Madafi Pierre moved to Brooklyn, New York in search of other “misfits” like herself. She not only found them but also created a family full of photographers, dancers, writers, painters and singers. A true renaissance artist; Madafi is a poet, singer, songwriter and actress where which many of her songs have been played on radios in various cities across America and Europe. Her song "Mr. Right" is the theme song in the popular 2003 French movie "Je Reste". Madafi is a proud member of Brave New World Repertory Theater and Ase Dance Theater Collective. She’s performed off-Broadway in Langston Hughes’ play "Tambourines to Glory" and in Walt Whitman’s "Crossing Brooklyn Ferry". She has also performed with her band at the legendary Blue Note, S.O.Bs, Central Park Summer Stage and other noted venues. Her first book, "The Meltdown of a Sweet Black Cat" was published in 2009 and can be found in libraries, museums and schools in Miami and New York (forward written by singer/musician Cody ChesnuTT). This summer she is in the Shakespeare play "As You Like It", and will debut her one-woman multimedia performance piece "Medusa’s Love Song" in New York City. Look out for the re-release of her 1st album "Everything In The Middle" with new songs this fall. www.madafipierre.com
