Chile miners in VIP visit to Manchester

The Chilean miners have arrived in Manchester for a VIP visit to Old Trafford.

Their love of football helped keep morale high when the 33 men became trapped in the San Jose mine in northern Chile for over two months earlier this year.

The miners were dramatically rescued in October when, one by one, they were brought back to the surface in a capsule after being trapped for almost two months underground.

Bobby Charlton came up with the idea of inviting the miners to Manchester, and the United legend hosted a commemorative dinner at Old Trafford on Saturday.

Most of the miners are expected to attend Old Trafford on Monday for United's top of the league clash with Arsenal.

Prior to the match they will be introduced to Sir Alex Ferguson and his players before taking their seats in the directors' box.
