What happens when a young composer from São Paulo is invited to the Beethoven Festival in Bonn. ARTS.21 visits the confessed Schubert fan and multi-instrumentalist André Mehmari in São Paulo.He is currently rehearsing his new work Cidade do Sol with the Sinfonica Heliópolis, a classic 80 person orchestra drawn from the large slums of the city. The DW commissioned work will premier in Bonn on October the Fourth.
