(Supertramp) Roger Hodgson Montage with PUR

Roger Hodgson is recognized as one of the most gifted composers, songwriters and lyricists of our time! As the legendary voice, writer and arranger of most of Supertramps greatest hits that led to more than 60 million record sales, he gave us amazingly enduring songs like: Give a Little Bit, Dreamer, The Logical Song, Breakfast In America and so many others that have become the sound track of our lives.
I heard that they had one day to rehearse but wow you would never know. Roger and PUR did a really good job. I can feel the energy and excitement in the audience. I wish I was there but this is the next best thing. Roger performs with other artists and in a variety of formats from acoustic, to band and full orchestra around the world.
The songs Roger Hodgson sings that are often referred to as Supertramp songs are songs that Roger wrote and composed alone - that is how he creates music. He will often hear the musical composition first, then the lyrics come. Sometimes he will hear the whole song complete inside himself before he puts it down on paper and recording.
Supertramp as a band never wrote and composed together, there were only two songwriters for the band. The songs Roger sings lead vocals on are the ones he composed the music and lyrics for, and the songs Rick sings lead vocals on are the ones that he wrote.
