Simon Cowell 'mortified' by what's happened?

Simon Cowell has reportedly said he is 'mortified' that voice changing technology was used on The X Factor.
The TV mogul is quoted in The Mirror as saying:
''It was totally wrong and we can't allow it to happen again. I'm mortified by what's happened. The most important thing now is to ensure viewers can trust what they see on the show.''
It's thought this Saturday's show is being re-edited so that viewers get to see the contestants auditions in their original state.
The launch of series 7 of the talent show was watched by over 12 million viewers.
