Simon Cowell and Cheryl Cole move up rich list

Simon Cowell's bank balance is healthier than the Beckhams', according to the Sunday Times Rich List.

The annual rundown of Britain's most wealthy has put the talent show judge in 11th place. Thanks to his shows The X Factor, Britain's Got Talent, American Idol and the music artists his company looks after he is now said to have a fortune of £165 million.

David and Victoria Beckham have held onto their spot in 14th position. Their net worth has apparently increased by 16 per cent from 125 million to £145 million, mainly due to the Spice Girl Victoria's clothing collection.

Cheryl Cole, meanwhile, has moved up the ranks in the list of loaded music stars under 30. She has more than doubled her wealth after appearing on The X Factor and securing deals with the likes of L'Oreal. As a result, it is estimated she is worth £10 million.

Cole sits in fourth in the young rich list, just behind singers Charlotte Church, Katherine Jenkins and Leona Lewis who all have £11 million.
