HOW TO GET RID OF SHEATH SLIPPAGE
If, after intensive use in particular conditions, such as in-situ use for top-roping on a
climbing wall, or use in particularly wet conditions, sheath slippage is produced, it is
necessary to remove it.
The way this is done is simply to slide the excess sheath off the core and re-seal the rope.
Cut the sealed ends off the rope with a knife or scissors, then work the excess sheath towards
each end from the mid-point.
When the excess sheath is worked beyond the core at the ends, cut and seal with a hot knife.
(Replacing the rope identification tapes!)
