On Wednesday, flooded rivers killed a 12 year-old girl and injured three people in eastern Turkey. More than 3,000 homes were damaged.

Over-flooded rivers of Murat and Taslicay trapped many residents in two areas.

[Murat Guven, Governor of Agri]: (Male, Turkish)
"The highway connecting Agri and Van was blocked due to flooded Murat River. Since the night, we are trying to keep the road open with our heavy machinery by our governorship and municipality."

The young girl died and another three were injured when a house collapsed.

Hundreds of houses were evacuated and schools were closed for three days.

Floods are common in eastern Turkey. Earlier this month the region suffered another large flood that damaged many of houses and barns.
