Clegg accuses Cameron of 'breathtaking arrogance'

Liberal Democrat leader Nick Clegg has accused David Cameron of "breathtaking arrogance" as the party unveiled a galaxy of stars, including Harry Potter actor Daniel Radcliffe, backing its election campaign.

Campaigning in south east London with just three days to go before the crucial poll, Mr Clegg warned that the Tory leader was already "measuring up the curtains" of Ten Downing Street before the electorate had cast their votes.

"In this country you don't inherit power, you have to earn it," he told Mr Cameron.

Urging voters to back the Lib Dems, Mr Clegg said a "stitch-up" between the Tories and Labour was not in the interests of the country or its future prosperity.

His warning came as the Liberal Democrats announced a range of high-profile figures who are backing the party's campaign to bring about a fairer Britain. The list of supporters includes actor Colin Firth, scientist and author Professor Richard Dawkins, satirist Armando Iannucci and human rights and environmental campaigner Bianca Jagger.

Mr Clegg commented: "I welcome the support of everyone who recognises this is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to make a real difference in Britain."
