Catherine Morris of Los Angeles Catholic Workers speaks on the history of The Hospitality Kitchen, known to most in the downtown skid row area as The Hippie Kitchen. Founded by the great Catholic Worker Dorothy Day (journalist, Catholic activist, non-violent anarchist, succor to the poor) who founded the Hippie Kitchen, in 1970, may God rest her soul. Catherine and Husband Jeff Dietrich have made a life long commitment to helping, serving, feeding, providing medical care, clothing and housing to the needing continuously for over the past forty years as a service to the people of skid row and beyond.
