Joe Taub's Melodians - I'm Following You

This is another composition than the one uploaded yesterday. This appears to be a pseudonym for Harry Leader (London, 1906-1987), a saxophonist who in 1933 achieved a break as the No. 1 named bandleader on Crystalate’s “Eclipse” label, especially for Woolworths. All in all he made 140 records for this label. Some were made under pseudonyms such as the abovementioned, the Connecticut Collegians, and Lew Sylva, a pun on the American bandleader Lou Gold. After the war, though, he and his Band were “banned” by the BBC because they claimed it was not up to standard. It was to be some time before he was allowed to broadcast again. This great record, with a vocal by Bill Airey-Smith, was made in 1933.
