Yellowstone Coyote

This is one of three coyotes we saw during our short stay in Yellowstone. The coyotes in Yellowstone Park are some of the largest in the US and average around 30 lbs. These relatives of domestic dogs hunt small mammals such as the pika, gopher, or marmot. This one did end up catching its lunch that day!
