Gilberto Guarino plays Clérambault. "Suite du 1er Ton": #4 - "Trio". Temperament: 1/4 comma meantone.
This "Trio à deux dessus", from the "Suite du 1er Ton" (between 1710-1714), requires, as does such a genre of composition, that the two treble parts be played on the "Positif" , while the bass is to be heard from the ranks ot the "Grand Orgue". Be that as it may, I was forced to play the two "dessus" on the "Récit" due to the disposition of the stops and the audio result.
According to Lebègue, there are in french classical organ music, two kinds of Trios: 1)"à deux dessus" (with two trebles); "à trois claviers" (on three keyboards).
