00:00Catholics across the Canberra and Southern Highlands region have been directed here to St. Christopher's Cathedral in the heart of Canberra to mourn the loss of Pope Francis.
00:12The Angela Service, a special mass of mourning, will be presided over by Archbishop Christopher Crouse.
00:19He actually met the Pope on a number of occasions and described him as a humble man who was down-to-earth and someone that Australians would have loved because of his very no-frills style of leadership.
00:33It's very fitting that St. Christopher's Cathedral is just across the road from Monika Oval where we often have sporting events here in Canberra and that seems to have inspired the Archbishop's reflections of the Pope.
00:45If I could use those like a football analogy, he wasn't so much a boundary umpire, he was more of a coach and the coach here is not just for the Catholic Church but it's also for the world. I think he coached the world.
01:01The Archbishop really stressed that these services remembering the Pope are not just for Catholics but really for everyone.
01:09In particular tonight, there will be a service at 6pm here at the Cathedral for all Canberrans.
