00:00Who has the better frozen pizza, U.S. or U.K.?
00:02We're digging in to see who has the best value,
00:04how it compares to delivery,
00:06and some interesting facts you might not know.
00:08Starting now in the U.S., it is safe to say,
00:10DiGiorno is one of the biggest, if not the biggest,
00:13frozen pizza brand.
00:15Right here is the rising crust pepperoni version,
00:17and it, according to the box, weighs 24.7 ounces,
00:21or 702 grams.
00:23One of the best-selling pizzas in the U.K. is this one.
00:26It's the Goodfellas Classic Crust Pepperoni.
00:30According to the packaging, this one weighs 524 grams,
00:33although when I measured it uncooked, it actually came to 532.
00:36I want to see how much weight this lost during the cooking process.
00:39Cooking process or burning process?
00:41After cooking, that's actually only 460 grams.
00:44It's a pretty substantial decrease.
00:46Get a good look, U.K., if we zoom in there,
00:48this pizza is advertised as being similar to delivery.
00:52It's not delivery, it's DiGiorno.
00:54Every American knows exactly that slogan, very popular.
00:58It's a major selling point that the dough of this pizza is supposed to rise
01:02and give the texture and appearance of a freshly delivered pizza.
01:06Now, before we started cooking this pizza, I measured its weight,
01:09and it is actually 745 grams frozen, more than advertised in the box.
01:14Very generous, DiGiorno. Thank you.
01:15I have adjusted the scale for the weight of the pizza pan.
01:19And once it's cooked, looks like it weighs closer to 690 grams.
01:23Now, I want to say the box set originally 702, so that loses 12 grams only.
01:28That's pretty nice, I think.
01:32For this one, there was actually no change in the size of the crust when it was cooked.
01:37Let's take a look at this crust.
01:38Full inch crust has doubled in size.
01:41We do have quite a few brands in the U.K. that use takeaway on the packaging.
01:44Takeaway being what we would call a delivery in the U.K.
01:47That said, I don't think many would use the takeaway aspect as their kind of main selling point.
01:51I think most Brits would just get that takeaway and home-cooked pizzas are likely to be different.
01:55When it comes to frozen pizza in the U.K., I think there's a bit of a divide.
01:57On the one hand, you have these thin and crispy or stone-baked pizzas.
02:00Typically, the thin crust ones will be smaller and maybe a little bit less complicated when it comes to the toppings.
02:05On the other hand, we have these thicker crust, kind of more American-style pizzas.
02:09The crust can be pan or stuffed, and typically you're expecting a few more toppings and maybe a larger focus on the meat.
02:15If I wanted a heftier pizza, which I often do, I think I would go for one of these kind of loaded stuffed crust pizzas, like a Chicago Town stuffed crust pepperoni.
02:22On the packaging of this pizza, it says it weighs 645 grams.
02:26When I weighed it before cooking, it was actually slightly more, around 670.
02:29However, now that it's cooked, it's actually only weighing 562 grams.
02:33It's still smaller than that pizza in the U.S.
02:35I love these things so much.
02:37These are, unironically, one of my favorite foods.
02:39I have this very cute cat pizza cutter.
02:43The only issue is it doesn't really work very well, because they're supposed to roll, and this one kind of just doesn't.
02:48Part of why I love these ones is the stuffed crust isn't cheese, it's actually sauce.
02:53A little marinara running through there.
02:55People might say, hey, the crusts are dry.
02:57No, they're not.
02:58Sauce on the inside.
03:00I think this is just the goat of frozen pizzas.
03:02I've never seen a crust stuffed with anything other than cheese, so for real, that looks nasty.
03:06As you'd expect from a company that claims to be from Chicago, they also sell deep dish pizza.
03:10Here is the Mega Meaty.
03:12As you can see, these are small pizzas, and you get two in a box.
03:15Each one of these weighs around 157 grams, for a total of 314.
03:19Again, before cooking, they actually came to slightly above the expected weight.
03:22These were around 350 grams.
03:24Now they are 308 grams.
03:26These remind me of birthday parties that I attended while I was growing up.
03:28Pretty handy.
03:29You can fit a bunch of them in the oven at once.
03:30From stressed out parents running around, dishing out Chicago town deep dishes.
03:34I've never been to Chicago, but as far as I can tell, these are pretty authentic deep dish.
03:38Right, Joe?
03:39No, not at all.
03:40And if anyone was wondering, that's not a Chicago or even a U.S. brand.
03:44I'm always blown away by the bread ratio on these, because I know typically with the Chicago deep dish,
03:50it's more like a pie crust that you unfilled with stuff, whereas these are like solid bread, sauce, cheese toppings.
03:56Unfortunately, Joe's right.
03:57That's not an American company.
03:58It's in fact owned by Dr. Ertke.
04:01Dr. Ertke with their Ristorante line of frozen pizzas,
04:04I would say are like a direct competitor in the U.K. to Chicago town.
04:07Owning both brands and playing them off against each other seems very Yojimbo.
04:11That's a reach for our audience, Joe.
04:14Great movie.
04:15Also, for both of us right now, let's look at the pizza image on the packaging versus the final product.
04:21I have to say, this looks like a pretty good pizza, especially for frozen.
04:25I think they're playing up the thickness on this, but all right.
04:28So it's not like exact, but I don't think I wouldn't be like so shocked.
04:33I have slightly burnt this one.
04:35That's kind of on me.
04:36But broadly speaking, I would say a fairly faithful recreation.
04:41I mean, this might be the benchmark pizza.
04:43Very good.
04:44I think it's a lot fluffier than you would think a frozen pizza would be.
04:47And emphasizes the rising crust.
04:49I know other ones do.
04:50But for me, this definitely like is a good pizza to fill you up on.
04:54The expectation versus reality gap and how food is advertised versus what you get is so common.
04:59There's even a subreddit dedicated to showing those differences.
05:03Now, the US tends to be a bit more litigious than the UK will say.
05:06And yes, people have sued corporations like McDonald's and Wendy's over claims of false advertising.
05:12In a recent case, courts did actually side with restaurants on this issue, claiming that no reasonable person could expect a burger to look exactly like an advertisement.
05:19Another big win for our corporate overlords.
05:21Back in 2020, I found this ad for an LA grocery chain that was selling DiGiorno rising crust pizzas like this one for $4.99.
05:29Today, I'm seeing the same pizza for about $6.50, depending on the store.
05:34Now, is that the worst price increase over the past five years?
05:37I mean, the good family at DiGiorno has to make a living on these things, too, right?
05:40Frozen pizza is big business in both countries.
05:43In 2022, here in the US, the frozen pizza market size was valued at $6.62 billion.
05:51And in Britain, the year before, it was 469 million pounds, which translates roughly to 582 million US dollars.
06:00Now, there's more people in the US, so that works out to, in the US, $19.86 million per a million people.
06:09In the UK, it's about 7.32 million pounds, or roughly $9.2 million per a million people.
06:17Yes, we like frozen pizzas here in the US.
06:20Let's compare the price of a delivery pizza versus a frozen pizza in both countries.
06:23In the UK, there's pretty much always a deal on, right now, we can get a large pepperoni pizza from Domino's for 12 pounds.
06:28On average, one of those pizzas weighs 858 grams.
06:31So with Domino's, you're paying around £1.40 for every 100 grams of pizza.
06:35Let's compare that to these frozen options.
06:37Our pepperoni Goodfellas pizza is around 86 pence per 100 grams.
06:40It would take just over one and a half of these pizzas to match the weight of a large Domino's.
06:44The Chicago Town's stuffed crust pepperoni is 78 pence per 100 grams.
06:47Just one and a third of these pizzas would be enough to match the Domino's one.
06:50And then we also have this Dr. Ertke Ristorante Margherita pizza.
06:54Per 100 grams, you're paying 97 pence for this pizza.
06:57So as you might expect, even factoring in a deal and not including delivery fees,
07:01you're getting a much better value with frozen pizzas than you are with the Domino's.
07:04Here in the US, a Domino's large hand-tossed pepperoni pizza cost me $19.99.
07:10Breaking that price down is 55 cents per ounce or $1.94 per 100 grams.
07:15This soon-to-be-cooked Tombstone pepperoni pizza is $5.99,
07:19which breaks down to 32 cents per ounce or $1.13 per 100 grams.
07:25Now, I want to point out weight-wise, 1.95, so basically two of these equal to the same weight
07:30of that Domino's large pizza.
07:32Our DiGiorno Rising Crust pepperoni was $6.99, which is about 25 cents per ounce or 88 cents per 100 grams.
07:39And about 1.31 of these equals the large Domino's pizza.
07:44So yes, if it wasn't already obvious, going frozen is a better deal than delivery in the US.
07:49Wasn't even including tax and tip.
07:51How about branded versus supermarket-owned brand?
07:53Here we have the Goodfellas pepperoni, and here we have a Tesco-owned brand.
07:57As you'd expect, the supermarket-owned one is much cheaper.
07:59One of these pizzas is just £1.45 versus the £4.50 that you're paying for the Goodfellas one.
08:04The Goodfellas pizza is bigger, but even taking that into account and doing a price per 100 grams,
08:08this one comes to 41 pence, and this one comes to 85 pence.
08:12So the Goodfellas per 100 grams is more than double the cost.
08:14All right, over here we have Signature Select Pizza, which is also a Rising Crust pepperoni.
08:18For those of you know, Signature Select is kind of like a brand that is in some grocery chains across the country.
08:24This is their $4.99 Rising Crust pepperoni pizza, which is similar to the DiGiorno's brand Rising Crust pepperoni pizza.
08:32I want to point out that this one is about 29% less than the DiGiorno.
08:37But we don't just eat with our wallets, we also eat with our mouths.
08:39We mostly eat with our mouths, actually.
08:41I've burned both of these in the interests of fairness.
08:45Expensive branded one.
08:47Look at those big pepperonis.
08:49Very salty, pleasantly bready.
08:52They are actually pretty different.
08:53I'm getting a lot more salt from the Goodfellas one.
08:56The sauce itself may be a bit sweeter as well.
08:58And the dough has quite a fluffy texture, I would say.
09:01This one I actually really like.
09:02I think the sauce is a bit richer.
09:04A bit more savory.
09:05Not as salty.
09:06The dough on this one, definitely a bit chewier.
09:09I think in terms of value on this one, I'm probably picking Tesco.
09:12I don't get much more from that one to really justify that kind of extra three pounds that you would be spending on it.
09:16Already had a slice of this.
09:17Want to do another bite?
09:18Pretty good.
09:20And this is very good.
09:22Straight up, save your money.
09:24Go to Signature Select.
09:26Bro!
09:27Yeah!
09:28I would say maybe.
09:29Maybe an argument would be made that the DiGiorno's has more pepperoni.
09:32I didn't really count.
09:34The difference is very subtle.
09:37Guys, I'm doing them side by side.
09:38If you, like, flipped them back and forth, I don't think I'd be able to tell.
09:41How does frozen pizza nutrition compare to delivery?
09:44Once again, we're comparing the Domino's large pepperoni pizza to these three of the best-selling U.S. pepperoni versions of the DiGiorno, which we've been rocking with this whole video.
09:54I also got my boy Red Baron and Tombstone.
09:57It turns out all three of these frozen pizzas have more calories, more fat, and more sodium.
10:04Ugh!
10:05All three of them, all three.
10:07Can you believe it?
10:08But one wonders, can I taste the difference?
10:11Domino's is so good.
10:13Now this one's supposed to be more sodium and fat.
10:15Doesn't taste like it, to be honest.
10:17This one has more flavor than the Domino's one.
10:18This is looking a lot more like a frozen pizza.
10:20Red Baron, I don't know about that.
10:22This is a thin one.
10:23It does taste saltier.
10:25This is the original crust.
10:26This is where we start.
10:27This is paper thin.
10:29I've been rocking with Tombstone since as long as I can remember.
10:33Tombstone's a bit of a nostalgia play for me.
10:35It's hard for me to say.
10:36At least these two, I'm tasting the sodium or the saltiness more than both the DiGiorno's and the Domino's.
10:41Let me get back in here again.
10:43So yeah, I would put these two in one category and these two in another.
10:46So yes, DiGiorno, you are very close to delivery. Congratulations.
10:52Comparing our UK pizzas to a Domino's large is actually not as cut and dry as it is in the US.
10:56Per 100 grams, our Goodfellas pepperoni pizza contains 260 calories, 12 grams of fat and 880 milligrams of sodium.
11:03That's more sodium but less fat in calories.
11:05100 grams of the Chicago town loaded pepperoni contains 261 calories, 9.7 grams of fat and 387 milligrams of sodium.
11:13This is lower in fat calories and sodium compared to Domino's.
11:16And once again, for fans of thinner pizzas, it's the Dr. Ertke Ristorante Mozzarella.
11:20240 calories, 11 grams of fat and 352 milligrams of sodium.
11:24Much less than the Domino's for all three.
11:26Broadly speaking, I would say Brits expect a frozen pizza to be healthier than a takeaway.
11:30So to me, this kind of all checks out.
11:32The main surprise for me is actually that this per 100 grams has less fat than a Dr. Ertke.
11:36Interesting. Frozen pizzas are typically highly processed and contain artificial preservatives, added sugar and unhealthy fats.
11:43They can be high in refined carbs, the cheese and processed meats add to the saturated fats and, of course, all that sodium from the sauce and meat toppings.
11:51One classic frozen pizza problem is when the cheese cooks and melts but doesn't actually adhere to the pizza.
11:56It leads to that thing where you bite into a slice and all of the cheese and toppings come off in one go.
12:01The real issue here is moisture or a lack of it from a frozen pizza.
12:04There are a couple of ways around this. Firstly, you can let your pizza thaw a little before you cook it.
12:08As the ice melts and the water is mixed back into the pizza, it'll help everything kind of get to know each other.
12:12If you don't want to wait for it to thaw, adding a few drops of water to a frozen pizza will also achieve the same effect.
12:16One thing I will say about leaving a pizza to thaw is don't do it with these Chicago Town stuffed crust ones.
12:21As you'll see on the packaging, these ones are actually made with a raw dough.
12:24That means that the dough actually rises a bit in the oven when you cook it.
12:27But if you leave it to thaw, it does this.
12:31Whereas a lot of frozen pizzas are par-cooked and will hold their shape even when they thaw, this one is not the case.
12:37Another trick to crisp up your pizza is to cook it at a way higher heat.
12:40Most restaurant pizzas are cooked at 700 to 1,000 degrees Fahrenheit, which is like 370 to 540 degrees Celsius, which can therefore make the crust crispier.
12:50Now, most home ovens do not go up that high.
12:53But if you wanted to crisp up the crust to cook the pizza on the oven rack itself with no tray and just be aware of drippage.
12:59Now, to be clear, I am not telling anyone to crank up your stoves to high heat when cooking a pizza.
13:06It's just something I found online.
13:09I am not liable for any possible oven disasters if you try this.
13:13But there is some potential hazards there that I am not responsible for if you try it.
13:19That's all I'm saying.
13:21Legally absolved.
13:22There are a few ingredients commonly found in frozen pizzas that you should be aware of.
13:25Last year, some scientists raised alarms over titanium dioxide, an ingredient also used in sunscreen.
13:30Titanium dioxide is regulated by the FDA in the US and in the UK is not classified as hazardous.
13:37It is, however, banned in the EU.
13:39Concerns about consuming titanium dioxide include harm to internal organs, immune and reproductive systems, and your DNA.
13:46Yikes.
13:47This episode is focused mostly on pepperoni pizza.
13:49Some of the pepperoni you see here in the US today does contain BHA and BHT, which is banned in the EU and subject to restriction in the UK.
13:57Both ingredients have been linked to cancer and blood clotting.
14:00Obviously, it would be impossible to show off every exclusive pizza in the UK, but here are some ones that we thought the US might find interesting.
14:06Not only are those crazy people at Chicago Town stuffing their crusts with tomato sauce, but they've actually just launched this new pizza.
14:12This is the magnificent Meat Feast Pizza, and the crust on this one is stuffed with barbecue sauce.
14:16I love the tomato stuffed crust one.
14:18I think this might be too far even for me.
14:20I'm not usually the biggest fan of barbecue sauce on a pizza anyway.
14:23Next up, we have the Chicago Town Tiger Crust Pizza.
14:26This one is just a cheese pizza, but with that tiger crust.
14:29As far as I'm concerned, it doesn't add too much in terms of flavor.
14:31You maybe get little like slightly burnt bits of that kind of ricey crust on it.
14:35To me, it just looks like they're kind of using cheese to replicate the tiger crust.
14:38I don't think they're doing the rice paste thing, and also there's no rice on the ingredients.
14:43So yeah, maybe they're just using kind of little bits of cheese on the crust to give that same tiger-y effect.
14:48Realistically, these crusts kind of look the same anyway, and this one isn't advertised as having tiger crust.
14:53Ah, yes, the UK tiger crust. I saw it in the processed bread video, and now you guys got tiger crust pizza crust.
14:59Don't think anything like that would really make it over here in the U.S.
15:01Some crust options you can get here in the U.S.
15:03We can go to the deep dish. Here's the Red Baron deep dish pizza, sort of like your Chicago town.
15:08Just these little guys. I don't know. I mean, deep dish? I don't know how deep that is.
15:13This difference is a lot more staggering, I think.
15:17Yeah, I like the taste, and if you're just doing pizza for yourself.
15:20Guys, I'm not cooking all these pizzas, all right?
15:23They got this one thing a second, 20 minutes of pizza.
15:25Come on, man. I got stuff to do.
15:27This is the Signature Select. Remember Signature Select? They're back!
15:30The ultra-thin. But I'm not going to cook it, but I want to know, what are we considering ultra-thin?
15:35Remember earlier when I had the Tombstone, the Red Baron?
15:38Those were regular, and that was, like, super-thin.
15:43So for them to be like, we went ultra-thin, like, did you?
15:46That looks pretty similar, right?
15:50Tombstone, it's almost like a bug, where with Signature Select, it's the feature, right?
15:56The Tombstone's like, hey, look, it's really thin, all right?
16:00We're keeping them thin. We want to keep the price down.
16:02Meanwhile, Signature Select is like, oh, man, we're repackaging it.
16:05Like, guess what? Ultra-thin.
16:07Wow, that's so generous of you guys.
16:09And UK, look, I didn't see this on your Sainsbury website.
16:15None of your stores claim to have had this.
16:17It's a cauliflower crust pizza.
16:19I'm assuming it's gluten-free, yes?
16:22So anyway, instead of the crust made of dough and bread and all that good, delicious stuff,
16:27I mean, they took a cauliflower and just flattened it out and froze it
16:31and put pizza on it.
16:32I had the cauliflower crust pizza, and I will say, you can taste the difference,
16:35but it's not like that difference.
16:38So if you're really looking for a way to sneak vegetables into your diet
16:41or your children's diet...
16:43Here I have a wood-fired crust.
16:45These are slightly fancier pizzas that try to mimic the taste and look
16:48of a pizza that's actually being cooked in an oven.
16:50Generally speaking, this will produce a softer and fluffier crust,
16:53also with those kind of, like, leopard-spotting charred effects on the bottom.
16:56Most of the supermarkets in the UK will have one or two of these options.
16:59Here I have a Sainsbury's one with a Napoli salami and red chili.
17:03I do like these. It does feel fancier.
17:05It's a little bit more impressive.
17:06For me, this isn't something that I would necessarily get myself
17:09if I just wanted a frozen pizza at, like, short notice.
17:11Here in the US, we also have wood-fired or coal-fired frozen pizzas.
17:15Over here, you can see this Good & Gathered.
17:18That's the Target generic brand, or the Target brand.
17:22Wood-fired right there.
17:24There's also a brand called Table 87, their coal oven pizza.
17:30And they come, like, vacuum sealed here. They're fantastic.
17:32As far as U.S. pizza chains, California Pizza Kitchen,
17:36a very popular U.S. pizza chain,
17:38also has a variety of their pizzas frozen and available.
17:42So today I went ahead and got their barbecue chicken.
17:46California Pizza Kitchen, for those of you who don't know,
17:48is a pizza chain.
17:50And their claim to fame, I guess, like, in the late 90s, early 2000s,
17:53when they first blew up was, like, they have so many different toppings,
17:56so many different varieties, just like in California.
17:59I don't know. They were hot for a little bit there.
18:01Then every other pizza chain was like, all right, fine.
18:03We'll also have grilled chicken and, you know, roasted vegetables or whatever.
18:07And as you can see over here, I went ahead and got delivered
18:11an actual California Pizza Kitchen from a California Pizza Kitchen
18:15location. This is their somewhat famous barbecue chicken pizza.
18:21Delivery versus frozen.
18:22This is a takeaway you can have for this one, everyone.
18:24There's no way that this is also this.
18:30Okay, I taste the barbecue sauce, not much else.
18:33This is very good. The flavor of the chicken in this is incredible.
18:37With the onion, CPK, another job. This? No good.
18:43I'm gonna be honest with you. This is so bland.
18:45You're better off getting any pizza.
18:48Like, I would get, like, a cheese pizza and put barbecue sauce on it.
18:52I'm not kidding.
18:53Pretty much every supermarket here in the UK offers a range of its own brand pizzas.
18:56In addition to the classic thin crust stone baked, Tesco also offers a deep pan meat feast.
19:01I kind of like deep pan pizza.
19:02For me, it does just bring back pure memories of Pizza Hut buffets from when I was younger,
19:06which are mostly good memories.
19:08Just in general, supermarket-owned brand ones tend to represent much better value.
19:11Here we have a Sainsbury's thin and crispy cheese pizza.
19:13This might be the cheapest pizza we've talked about today.
19:15This thing costs just £1.10.
19:17U.S. grocery chains do have their own generic brands, but they're never named after the chain.
19:23Target, for instance, has Good & Gather lots of food stuff and non-food stuff, I think.
19:27This is the Margarita wood-fired crust pizza you saw from earlier.
19:31Then the Albertsons company that has grocery chains like Safeway, Vons, and Jewel Osco in the Midwest have the signature selects.
19:37As for the lowest-priced pizza that I could find, it is this, Celeste Cheese Pizza.
19:42Obviously a lot smaller.
19:44Everyone watching right now wants you to go to the comments.
19:46I'm going to give you five seconds to guess how much you think this costs.
19:55$1.49!
19:57That's right, $1.49.
19:59This is 148 grams, so that's about a penny a gram.
20:03Right?
20:05Nice rounded up there.
20:07I'm assuming that's Celeste right there.
20:08No disrespect to this, Celeste, if this is you, but I'm going to go on a limb and say that this is not very good.
20:14I did notice in the back here, they have a snack attack recipe idea, and from what I can tell, they're giving you other things you could put on top of this to make it a better tasting pizza, including a taco nacho pizza.
20:28This to me says, like, we also have no faith in this product. Buy it and put other stuff on it, please. Just buy it.
20:34Then we have some items that are kind of frozen pizzas, but also kind of not.
20:37Here we have these cheese and tomato subs from Chicago Town.
20:40I've never had these before. They're interesting. They look quite herbaceous.
20:44Another almost pizza option that we have in the UK are these pizza pockets from Goodfellas.
20:48These are kind of flatbreads, which are folded over and have some cheese and tomato sauce inside.
20:52My notes on these are, A, they look kind of sad, and B, I don't think that's a pocket.
20:56A pocket is like a trouser pocket where, you know, you have one opening, whereas these are unsealed on three sides.
21:02That's too much for a pocket.
21:03Here in the US, we love making other things into pizza, or pizza into other things that aren't pizza.
21:11We have, of course, bagel bites. What is that? A mini bagel that also has pizza on top of it.
21:16I don't know where this came from, but if you were a kid in the 90s, aughts, or teens, or now, you know these are awesome.
21:26Speaking of awesome pizza-flavored things, pizza rolls, Totino's Pizza Rolls.
21:33You don't have these in the UK, probably because they are barely food, I think.
21:37And, of course, Hot Pockets, too, with pizza and cheese gooing out of it.
21:43It has, like, a little, like, sleeve that you cook it in, so it cooks it extra fast to microwave it.
21:49And it's always impossibly hot on the inside.
21:52You know how, like, McDonald's has over a billion served on their sign?
21:56This one should be, like, over a billion tongues burned.
21:59Down here, French bread pizzas from Red Baron.
22:03It is, I don't know, similar to those Chicagotown subs.
22:07You know, think of French bread.
22:09I'm sure France is stoked about this.
22:12I want to point out that the actual Red Baron shot down British and French planes during World War I.
22:19So the good people at Red Baron are really sticking it to the British and French.
22:23You know, who's just like, yo, let's put that guy who we fought against on the box?
22:28That's nuts, right?
22:29I do love frozen pizzas.
22:31Growing up, we had them pretty often, either the frozen ones or maybe the refrigerated but also ready-made pizzas.
22:36If I had to pick a favorite, it is still my boy, the Chicagotown takeaway stuffed crust pepperoni.
22:41There's something about the dough that's different to the other ones.
22:43I think it is that kind of live dough, the way it kind of still rises, gets a nice texture contrast.
22:48The sauce stuffed crust as well, I really love.
22:50I think that's genius innovation.
22:51I don't really go for frozen pizza that much anymore when I did.
22:55It was probably Tombstone or a brand that might be a Midwest brand, Jack's.
23:00If there's a generic one, I'm getting that.
23:02As I've grown older and I've also fallen in love with cooking a lot more and cooked myself a lot more meals,
23:06I think pizzas have maybe taken a slight backseat in my cooking and eating habits.
23:11Growing up, we had frozen pizzas a lot.
23:13I would say at least once a week.
23:15That was, I hate to say it, when dad was taking care of dinner.
23:20And as we got older, it would be like pizza and something that resembled a side salad that I wouldn't eat.
23:28I think part of the reason why I love them so much in terms of like ready meals or ready-to-eat meals
23:32is that it's just not something that's easy to cook from scratch at home.
23:35I often shy away from maybe some of the like pasta and sauce ready meals that you might find in supermarkets
23:40that I know I can just make a lot better at home.
23:42But making a pizza from scratch at home obviously can be quite a lot of effort.
23:45So it feels like at that point you're actually gaining a lot rather than just kind of like taking a small shortcut.
23:50If you ask me how often we get pizza delivered a week, a lot.
23:55Also like once a week. Sorry, I should stop. My cholesterol is a nightmare.
24:00Hey, thanks for watching this Food Wars.
24:02If you liked it, go ahead and give it a thumbs up.
24:05There's also food tours. I'm in that where I go places and pretty much do the same thing there as I do here.
24:10Very entertaining indeed.
24:11Anyway, if you have an idea for anything you'd like to see us compare on this show,
24:15go ahead and let us know in the comments.
24:18Goodbye.
