Summer 1914. Roger, sixteen, goes to spend the holidays at his father's villa. The boy finds himself in close contact with a series of sensual or sexually unsatisfied women: the buxom maid Ursula, a mature peasant woman, his little sister's British governess, another maid, his older sister and even a spinster aunt. In the meantime, the First World War breaks out, and Roger finds himself practically the only man in the house. After the conflict, three of the guests at the villa are pregnant. All three get married, while Roger returns home.
