00:00The U.S. trade tariff.
00:02So I think with this, definitely the cost of living will be increased.
00:06So I think that will be very important for the government
00:09how to solve these issues and then how to reduce the cost of living.
00:20Hello, I'm Hans from Asia One, and we're at the heart of Pongo,
00:24one of Singapore's youngest towns,
00:26home to over 123,000 electors.
00:30The four-member Pongo GRC is newly formed
00:33by carving out estates from Pasiris Pongo GRC
00:36and merging them with Pongo West SMC.
00:40It's all but certain that a showdown with the People's Action Party
00:43will play out in the new GRC.
00:45Let's have a look at the issues that are top of mind for voters living here.
00:50There's a short walkway that we need because when there's raining,
00:53we're alive from the bus, then that short distance, if it's heavy rain, it's quite a problem.
00:58In Pongo, where I stay, infant care and child care centres are mostly oversubscribed.
01:05I could not find a child care nearest to me.
01:09I had to send my first child a bit further
01:12and wait for one and a half years until there was vacancy at the child care near my block.
01:18I hope that there can be more vacancies available.
01:23Now we have like city direct buses and MRT to CPT,
01:26but whenever we have to go maybe to Tempani's or Pasiris,
01:29maybe we have to change the bus.
01:31So I'm looking forward to when there's more, better MRT connection.
01:36I think the Hawker Centre has to be improved compared to the other estates,
01:40especially the pricing and the food selection.
01:43I'm pretty concerned about the healthcare expenses
01:46as we are all getting older.
01:48To bear with this, healthcare cost is key.
01:50And if it's tied to the insurance,
01:52and insurance premium is also one of the key expenses that we pay.
