00:00And it looks like Joe Dumars is getting another big job for whatever reason.
00:06I guess it's because he's from Louisiana.
00:09It seems like that is the reasoning for it.
00:12And this is actually kind of moved a little bit closer as the day has gone on here.
00:18It sounds like that this deal is being finalized.
00:21Dumars is going to become the president of basketball operations for New Orleans,
00:26replacing David Griffin.
00:28Dumars was president of the Pistons from 2000 to 2014.
00:34I guess they credit him with building the 2004 Pistons championship.
00:38And now he returns home to Louisiana.
00:41That is the deal for Joe Dumars with him.
00:45Now, you know, it's like Grubbsy was telling you yesterday,
00:47like he didn't seem too enamored with that for the Pelicans.
00:52It didn't sound like they loved that deal.
00:53Listen, I respect he's a Hall of Famer.
00:59Joe Dumars, great player.
01:01And he's been a very successful executive, certainly at the NBA league office as well.
01:08He ran their, I think, basketball ops for Silver.
01:12I think he was doing it for Stern as well.
01:15But here's the deal.
01:18Good luck.
01:20I don't care where you're from.
01:22I don't care if you spent your entire life in the bayou.
01:27Good luck fixing that mess.
01:31That is an absolute nightmare job.
01:35And everyone else, like remember, like Griffin was, he was a big shot, hot shot.
01:39He was a super executive, right?
01:41Like, you remember him?
01:42He had all the cards, all the marbles.
01:45He had it all figured out.
01:46And he went down there.
01:47And I mean, he died a slow death.
01:50And I mean, they are an absolute mess, a train wreck.
01:54I have said on repeated occasions, including yesterday with Grubbsy,
01:58I said, I don't even think they should be there anymore.
02:01I think they should yank their ass out of there and move them somewhere else
02:04where they really want the NBA.
02:06I don't even think they want it down there.
02:08I don't think they go.
02:09I don't think they support them.
02:11I don't think they care.
02:13I think it's a Saints town.
02:15And they suck too.
02:17And listen, I love it there.
02:18The food's great.
02:19It's fantastic.
02:20What a cool spot.
02:22Very cool spot.
02:23Everybody loves New Orleans.
02:24I'm telling you, their sports teams are a train wreck though.
02:27And that basketball team is the worst franchise.
02:30I think it literally is like, it's got to be the one or two.
02:34It's either one or two, the worst in the entire NBA.
02:36So he ain't got a lot of work to do and he's not exactly a spring chicken.
02:41Good luck.
02:42It's not happening.
02:44I don't believe for one minute.
02:45You're telling me he's going to win a title down there?
02:48My ass.
02:50That is not an easy gig at a Pelican job.
02:55That is not an easy gig whatsoever.
02:57He had a better job at the league office.
03:00God bless.
03:00That's where he was.
03:01God bless and good luck for Joe Dumars.
03:03God bless.
