00:00As-salamu alaykum.
00:30The mask unraveled.
00:41Contradictions in the claim of Western values.
00:46I admit that's a long title, but inshallah as we go through our discussion, it'll become more and more clear what I'd like everyone to take away today.
00:56So, before I talk about today, and as we know, there's a lot going on today.
01:05And truthfully, when I was preparing my speech, it seems like my preparation never ends because things around us, the environment is such that we see changes every single day.
01:24And before we can talk about what's happening today, I'd like to take everyone back 20 years in time.
01:3220 years in time where former President George W. Bush stands in front of a large crowd in his second inaugural address.
01:41And he would come out boldly, and I've chosen some of his statements from his speech.
01:47So, it is the policy of the United States to seek and support the growth of democratic movements and institutions in every nation and culture with the ultimate goal of ending tyranny in our world.
02:04Freedom, by its nature, must be chosen and defended by citizens and sustained by the rule of law and the protection of minorities.
02:17We will persistently clarify the choice between every ruler and every nation, the moral choice between oppression, which is always wrong, and freedom, which is eternally right.
02:30America will not pretend that jailed dissidents prefer their chains, or that women welcome humiliation and servitude, or that any human being aspires to live at the mercy of bullies.
02:46America's belief in human dignity will guide our policies.
02:51Yet rights must be more than the grudging concessions of dictators.
02:55As you can see, in this speech, there's many references made of morality, of good, of evil.
03:25Of tyranny, of ending oppression.
03:28Bush, in 2005, he came out strong, touting the mask of morality.
03:35Touting the mask of morality.
03:39Touting the triumph of democracy and freedom.
03:42The ending of tyranny.
03:44The right to dissent.
03:46And the promise of security and freedom.
03:49Prosperity to all Americans.
03:52But, there was a backdrop to this speech.
03:55The backdrop to the speech was the Iraq invasion based on false claims of WMD charges against the Iraqi government.
04:09It was the invasion of Afghanistan and the destabilization of it.
04:15It was the soon-to-to-be housing crisis that happened in 2008.
04:21And it would be the soon-to-be mismanagement of Hurricane Katrina and its fallout in the United States.
04:28Despite all of these things, despite the looming economic disaster, the mask of morality was maintained.
04:37Now, we fast forward to today's time.
04:44And just recently, with the former President Biden.
04:50Now, since October 7th, whatever remained of that mask of morality would completely unravel.
05:02So, in the Biden administration, Biden would come out in full force to green light and finance the ethnic cleansing of our brothers and sisters in Gaza.
05:15He would say, I have no notion that the Palestinians are telling the truth about how many people are killed.
05:24I'm sure innocents have been killed.
05:27And it's the price of waging a war.
05:30He would come out dismissively to write off the deaths of 10,000s.
05:37He would come out and write it off and say, that is the price of waging a war.
05:42And the death toll in Gaza would continue to climb.
05:46At the same time, the awareness and the opposition and the calls for ceasefire would also continue to rise.
05:54And then, after Biden, we know we now have the Trump administration.
06:02Trump campaigned to try to be different than Biden.
06:06To be the one who would come out to end wars.
06:09But he would carry on the baton of ethnic cleansing.
06:13He would say, I also strongly believe that the Gaza Strip, which has been a symbol of death and destruction,
06:20the U.S. will take over the Gaza Strip, and we will do a job with it too.
06:27And just recently, in the holy month of Ramadan,
06:32it was the Trump administration that green-lighted the violation of the ceasefire agreement,
06:38resulting in the death of more than a thousand men, women, and children innocent on the ground in Gaza.
06:45Not only was this an escalation and a betrayal to his campaign promises,
06:55it was a betrayal to his voter base.
06:59And the bitter reality, brothers and sisters, as we'll come to see,
07:03is that the ideals of democracy and freedom of speech and human rights,
07:08despite their mass appeal,
07:10despite their mass appeal,
07:14are illusions designed to serve power, not people?
07:22And then we get into the hypocrisy of Western ideals.
07:29In this system, there are false promises that are made.
07:33False promises of freedom and democracy.
07:36The West claims to champion free speech and press freedoms,
07:41but the reality is that the actions completely contradict that.
07:46Applications of free speech are selective,
07:49as free speech is shut down when it threatens the mainstream narratives.
07:53Since October 7th, we've seen that the mainstream narrative in the United States,
07:58as well as Western institutions all over the world,
08:01has been centered on the Zionist rhetoric.
08:04It has been centered on condemnation.
08:10The question, do you condemn?
08:12Do you condemn what happened on October 7th?
08:15As if there was never a history, decades-long history,
08:20of occupation, illegal Zionist occupation of the region.
08:25As if we're not even allowed to think of what happened before.
08:29As if history just started on October 7th.
08:32In January 2024, and here before I move on,
08:38we're getting into the mainstream coverage of the crisis in Gaza.
08:44And as you see here, this is a report from The Intercept.
08:48It shows that the mentions of the Palestinians declined
08:50as the death tolls would continue to rise as a method of suppression.
08:56And in 2024, The Intercept published a study
09:00on major news outlets like the New York Times,
09:08the Washington Post, the Los Angeles Times.
09:11They concluded that overall, Israel's killing in Gaza
09:15are not given proportionate coverage in either scope or emotional weight
09:19as the death of Israelis on October 7th.
09:22These killings are mostly presented as arbitrarily high, abstract figures.
09:28Nor are the killings described using emotive language
09:31like massacre, slaughter, or horrific.
09:35Because when you control the labels,
09:37when you control the media narrative,
09:39you choose who is worthy to live,
09:42who is worthy to be humanized,
09:44which lives matter,
09:45and who will be dehumanized and mischaracterized
09:49so they can be villainized on the world stage.
09:55But despite the efforts to control the mainstream media narrative,
10:01we've seen that around the world,
10:06voices condemning the Zionist entity continue to rise,
10:10especially in the United States.
10:12Voices with increasing discontent of U.S. financing
10:17and backing of genocide.
10:19Voices highlighting the reality of occupation of Palestine,
10:23going back to the 1948 Nakba and even before.
10:27Voices highlighting this truth
10:29have been sidelined at best,
10:32and today these voices are criminalized.
10:35And in reality,
10:39today,
10:41we're free to support the sniping of children,
10:44but not free to call on for their justice,
10:47for their saving.
10:50And
10:50here we see
10:53in a recent Israeli offensive,
10:56I want to highlight the names
10:58of two individuals.
11:00One was
11:03Hussam Shabbat,
11:04who was from Al Jazeera,
11:06a journalist,
11:07a reporter.
11:08Another was
11:08Mohamed Mansour,
11:09from Palestine today.
11:13Both of these individuals
11:14were murdered by the Zionist entity,
11:17and have joined the ranks
11:18of over 200
11:20martyrs.
11:23Journalist,
11:24whose very mission
11:25was to raise
11:27a voice of truth,
11:28to expose
11:29the plight
11:30of the Palestinians
11:31and the horrific conditions.
11:33Yet Western leaders
11:34offer no outrage,
11:36no condemnation,
11:38a deafening betrayal
11:39of their so-called
11:40press freedoms.
11:42In this chart
11:43I have over here,
11:44it gives a breakdown
11:45of journalists
11:46that were murdered
11:46in different
11:47war
11:49throughout history.
11:51Here we have
11:51civil war,
11:52U.S. civil war,
11:53the different world wars,
11:55and finally,
11:56the largest you see
11:57at the end
11:57is the death toll
11:59of the journalists
12:00in Gaza,
12:00which continues
12:01to climb.
12:06So the,
12:07Tammy Bruce
12:08from the U.S. State Department
12:10was pressed
12:11on these murders,
12:12and she would come out
12:13and comment.
12:15She would come out
12:17and comment
12:17that every single thing
12:20that's happening
12:20is a result of Hamas
12:22and its choices
12:23to drag down
12:24that region,
12:25drag that region down
12:26into a level
12:27of suffering
12:27that has been
12:28excruciating
12:29and has caused
12:30innumerable deaths.
12:33In other words,
12:34as I was mentioning,
12:35the mainstream narrative,
12:36the government narrative
12:37is the one
12:38that propels
12:39that mainstream narrative
12:40forward,
12:41and it's as if
12:41pretending,
12:42as if nothing
12:43existed
12:44before October 7th,
12:46and it automatically
12:47assumes
12:47that the blame
12:48is on those
12:49that are oppressed
12:50in Palestine.
12:56And in contrast,
12:58in 2015,
12:59I want you to
13:00look at these
13:01two images.
13:03One's from 2015,
13:05the Charlie Hebdo
13:06incident that happened,
13:07and you have
13:08world leaders
13:09from many different
13:10countries,
13:11and you'll recognize
13:11some of these faces,
13:13arm in arm,
13:14walking down the streets,
13:16protesting
13:16what happened
13:19in the Charlie Hebdo
13:19incident.
13:20At the same time,
13:22it's a common
13:24occurrence
13:25for journalists.
13:26What you're seeing
13:27there is the body
13:28of Hussam Shabbat
13:30and the mourning
13:31of the body,
13:33yet there's no
13:34mainstream coverage
13:35because to the
13:36mainstream media,
13:37these voices
13:38do not matter.
13:44And while war crimes
13:46by the Zionist
13:47entity
13:47go unpunished.
13:51While they go
13:52unpunished,
13:52the West
13:53manufactures outrage
13:54when it serves
13:55their geopolitical
13:56interest.
13:57Take, for example,
13:58the selective response
13:59to the war
14:00in Ukraine.
14:01Supporting
14:02resistance
14:03in Ukraine
14:04is deemed
14:05as noble,
14:06it's deemed
14:07as heroic,
14:08it's deemed
14:08as acceptable
14:10and praised
14:11against the
14:12occupying
14:12Russian forces.
14:14But the same
14:15resistance
14:16for the
14:17Palestinian people
14:18to secure
14:19their basic
14:19rights
14:20is criminalized.
14:25And the reality
14:27is that
14:27the selective
14:29application
14:29of human rights
14:30means that
14:32they are only
14:32invoked
14:33when it's
14:34politically
14:35advantageous.
14:36and we
14:39felt these
14:40impacts.
14:41We felt
14:42these impacts
14:43at home
14:44because we've
14:46seen the
14:46social media
14:47censorship.
14:48We've seen
14:48that since
14:49October 7,
14:51Facebook
14:51and other
14:52platforms
14:52have escalated
14:54the banning
14:55or shadow
14:56banning
14:56of pro-Palestinian
14:58voices.
14:59We have seen
15:00accounts
15:01terminated
15:02simply for
15:03speaking out
15:04against genocide.
15:05We saw
15:06the weaponization
15:07of algorithms.
15:08Weaponization
15:09of algorithms
15:10to limit
15:10the visibility
15:11of pro-Palestinian
15:13content
15:13while amplifying
15:14the Zionist
15:15narrative.
15:16We saw
15:17how on
15:18January 18,
15:192025,
15:20TikTok
15:21was momentarily
15:22suspended
15:22and then
15:24it was
15:25reinstated.
15:26It was
15:27reinstated
15:28and users
15:30began to
15:30cite
15:31suppression
15:32of language,
15:33suppression
15:34of calling
15:34out the
15:35genocide
15:35that they
15:36had never
15:36seen
15:36before.
15:47And then
15:48we get to
15:48the
15:48practical
15:50ramifications.
15:51here
15:54in the
15:55land
15:55of the
15:55free,
15:57in the
15:57home
15:58of the
15:58brave,
15:59the
15:59targeting
16:00of
16:00activists
16:01is not
16:02isolated
16:02only to
16:03Muslims.
16:04We saw
16:05that even
16:05Jewish
16:06and
16:07non-Muslim
16:07other
16:08non-Muslim
16:09groups,
16:11their voices
16:11speaking up
16:13against the
16:13Zionist crimes
16:14also would
16:15come to
16:16face job
16:16loss,
16:17come to
16:18face
16:18university
16:19expulsions,
16:20crackdowns.
16:21Here we
16:22see pictured
16:22here at
16:23Columbia
16:23University,
16:24the starting
16:26point of
16:26the encampments
16:27in the
16:27United States.
16:28And we
16:28saw the
16:29brutal
16:29repression
16:30and the
16:31crackdown
16:31threatening
16:32of suspending
16:32students,
16:33everything,
16:34in order to
16:35suppress their
16:35voices.
16:43And
16:43we're all
16:45familiar with
16:46the case
16:46of
16:46Mahmoud
16:47Khalil.
16:48And I
16:49want to
16:49read to
16:50you
16:50the quote
16:51from
16:51Noor
16:51Abdullah,
16:52his
16:52wife.
16:55You're
16:55watching
16:55the most
16:56terrifying
16:56moment
16:57of my
16:57life.
16:58This
16:58felt like
16:59a
16:59kidnapping
16:59because
17:00it
17:01was
17:01officers
17:02in
17:02plain
17:03clothes
17:03who
17:03refused
17:04to
17:04show
17:04us
17:04a
17:05warrant,
17:05speak
17:06with
17:06our
17:06attorney
17:06or
17:07even
17:07tell
17:08us
17:08their
17:08names,
17:09forced
17:09my
17:10husband
17:10into
17:10an
17:11unmarked
17:11car
17:11and took
17:12him
17:13away
17:13from
17:13me.
17:14Now
17:15while
17:15you're
17:15hearing
17:15this,
17:17this
17:17scene
17:18may sound
17:19like it's
17:19from a
17:20dystopian
17:21film.
17:22It may
17:22sound like
17:23this is a
17:24section
17:24taken out
17:25of George
17:26Orwell's
17:261984,
17:28but this
17:28is the
17:30reality now
17:31in the
17:31United States
17:32where you
17:33can be
17:33disappeared
17:34on U.S.
17:35soil,
17:36just your
17:36crime
17:37speaking up
17:38for the
17:38oppressed.
17:39such
17:43disappearances
17:44are
17:45initiated
17:45and
17:46backed
17:46by
17:47current
17:48President
17:48Trump
17:49and
17:49Secretary
17:50of
17:50State
17:50Marco
17:50Rubio.
17:52They
17:53ascribe
17:53labels
17:54of guilt,
17:55weaponizing
17:58language
17:58to
17:59prescribe
18:00that
18:00guilt
18:00without
18:01a
18:01trial.
18:01And
18:06the
18:07disappearances,
18:09the threats
18:09of deportation,
18:11suspension
18:11would not
18:12stop there.
18:14We went
18:15on to
18:15see the
18:16deportation
18:17of Dr.
18:18Rasha
18:18Alawiya,
18:19the first
18:20one pictured.
18:21Dr.
18:22Rasha
18:22was a
18:23doctor who
18:23was a
18:23specialist
18:24in kidney
18:25transplant.
18:26We saw
18:27Georgetown
18:27University
18:28professor,
18:29Dr.
18:29Badr Khan
18:30Suri,
18:30a J-1
18:31visa holder,
18:32taken into
18:33custody by
18:34federal agents
18:34without a
18:35charge.
18:36Both
18:37dealt
18:37with unshaky
18:38claims of
18:39supporting
18:39terrorism
18:40without
18:40trial,
18:41and then
18:42followed the
18:42threats of
18:43deportation
18:44to
18:44young
18:44Seocheng,
18:45a bright
18:46Columbia
18:47student.
18:48And
18:49recently we
18:50saw the
18:50disappearance
18:51by masked
18:53men of
18:54Dr.
18:54Rumesa
18:54Usturk.
18:56Dr.
18:56Rumesa
18:57Usturk,
18:58who wrote
18:58an op-ed
18:59publication
19:00on the
19:01Palestinian
19:02struggle
19:02at Tufts
19:03University.
19:04And since
19:05then there
19:05have been
19:06more cases
19:06and even
19:07students who
19:08are feeling
19:08voluntarily to
19:10get up and
19:10leave the
19:11United States
19:11despite being
19:12in their
19:13PhD programs,
19:14their levels
19:15of higher
19:15education and
19:16study.
19:17They voluntarily
19:17leave because
19:18of the pressure
19:19that's created
19:20by the
19:20government.
19:22And even
19:22the institutions
19:23have not been
19:24spared.
19:25We look at
19:26Harvard,
19:26we look at
19:27Columbia,
19:28we look at
19:28Yale,
19:29the government
19:30has threatened
19:32to seize
19:32federal funding
19:33to these
19:33institutions
19:34if they don't
19:35do more
19:36to clamp
19:37down on
19:37pro-Palestinian
19:38protests,
19:39protests which
19:40they deem as
19:41anti-Semitic
19:41despite the
19:42fact that
19:43even Jewish
19:44students are
19:45leading and
19:45taking part
19:46in these
19:46protests.
19:47such examples
19:51of government
19:51overreach
19:52stand in
19:53clear violation
19:54of the
19:55first and
19:5614 amendments
19:57protecting
19:58of freedom
19:59of speech
20:00and the
20:01prohibition
20:01of depriving
20:02any person
20:04of life,
20:05liberty,
20:05and property
20:06without due
20:07process.
20:08Any person.
20:10It does not
20:10specify just
20:11citizens.
20:12It does not
20:13specify just
20:14permanent U.S.
20:14residents.
20:16They serve
20:16as intimidation
20:18tactics to
20:19suppress
20:19dissent.
20:22And then we
20:23get into the
20:24role of
20:25international
20:25institutions.
20:27In the
20:28international
20:29arena,
20:30we saw
20:31charges of
20:31war crime,
20:32we saw
20:33charges of
20:34genocide
20:34against the
20:36Zionist
20:36entity,
20:37we saw
20:37the declarations
20:39from the
20:39International
20:39Criminal Court
20:40and the
20:41International
20:41Court of
20:42Justice.
20:44But they've
20:45been met
20:45with silence.
20:47They've been
20:47met with
20:47dismissal.
20:49And
20:50nations
20:51have been
20:52vilified.
20:53Nations
20:53who would
20:54threaten
20:55this
20:56stance,
20:58who would
20:58try to
20:59actually
20:59implement
21:01or sympathize
21:03with the
21:03ICC and
21:04ICJ.
21:04At the
21:06same time,
21:07the same
21:09institutions
21:09that are
21:10then backed
21:12when it
21:13comes to
21:13Western
21:14geopolitical
21:15agendas.
21:16We saw
21:17the ICC
21:18arrest warrant
21:20for Putin
21:21because of
21:21the invasion
21:22of Ukraine.
21:23And that
21:24was backed
21:24and championed
21:26by the
21:26Western
21:26nations.
21:27But we
21:28see the
21:28opposite in
21:29the case
21:29of the
21:29ruling
21:30against
21:30the
21:30Zionist
21:30entity.
21:34Four dates
21:35in recent
21:35history that
21:36I want to
21:36bring to
21:37everyone's
21:37attention.
21:38October
21:3918,
21:392023.
21:40December
21:418,
21:412023.
21:42February
21:4320,
21:432024.
21:44November
21:4520,
21:452024.
21:46Four days
21:47that would
21:47go down
21:48in history.
21:49Four days
21:50as the
21:50calls for
21:51the ceasefire
21:52amplified in
21:53the United
21:53States and
21:54around the
21:54world.
21:55Calls to
21:56end the
21:57barbarity and
21:58destruction
21:58financed by
21:59the United
22:00States and
22:01conducted by
22:01the Zionist
22:02entity.
22:03Four times
22:03the United
22:05States
22:06Security Council
22:07would gather
22:07to vote on
22:08ceasefire
22:08resolution and
22:09four times
22:10the United
22:11States would
22:11raise a
22:12bloody hand
22:13in opposition
22:13to it.
22:18And the
22:19design of
22:21Western
22:22oppression
22:23is not
22:25accidental.
22:27It didn't
22:28happen in a
22:29vacuum.
22:30It didn't
22:30happen overnight.
22:32fight.
22:33But this
22:34is by
22:34design.
22:36The reality
22:37is the
22:38illusion of
22:39freedom and
22:40democracy serves
22:42to maintain
22:42control over
22:44dissenting
22:44voices.
22:46Where these
22:47repressive
22:47tactics are
22:49deliberate,
22:50not accidental.
22:51And the
22:52curbing of
22:52claimed freedoms
22:53and civil
22:54rights violations
22:54in the name
22:56of perceived
22:57security is
22:58nothing new.
22:58Let's take a
23:00step back in
23:00history.
23:01We saw the
23:02surveillance and
23:03criminalization of
23:04the African-American
23:05communities in the
23:07civil rights era.
23:08We saw the
23:10Patriot Act
23:10post-9-11 and
23:13the expansion of
23:14surveillance of
23:15citizens as well
23:16as search and
23:17seizure,
23:17violating the
23:18Fourth Amendment.
23:19We saw the
23:22NSA spying of
23:24U.S.
23:24citizens
23:25accelerated post-9-11,
23:27which facilitated
23:28mass recording of
23:29social media
23:30information by the
23:31government,
23:32especially in
23:33Obama's era.
23:35We saw
23:35wiretapping
23:36without warrant
23:37and data
23:38handled over to
23:39the FBI and
23:40CIA.
23:42And the
23:43U.S.
23:44The U.S.
23:46is a nation
23:46of infancy.
23:47being
23:49established for
23:50less than
23:50300 years,
23:52despite being
23:53a nation in
23:53its infancy,
23:54we're already
23:55seeing signs
23:56of decline.
23:58Signs of
23:59decline are
24:00indicated by
24:01the abandonment
24:02of the key
24:03principles of
24:03the system,
24:04of the
24:05ideology,
24:06trading freedoms
24:07for a hollow
24:07promise of
24:08security.
24:13What we come
24:14to realize is
24:16that the
24:16system of
24:17man and
24:19the system
24:19of the
24:19creator are
24:20not equal.
24:22The
24:22Western
24:23system does
24:24not protect
24:24people.
24:25It protects
24:26the few in
24:27positions of
24:28power.
24:29And so in
24:29these type of
24:30systems, there
24:31will always be a
24:32minority problem,
24:34questioning of
24:35loyalty and
24:36authorizing to
24:37fearmonger and
24:38consolidate political
24:39support while
24:40ignoring the
24:41bigger issues that
24:43every citizen is
24:44facing today.
24:45and the
24:46reality is
24:47even the
24:48freedoms are
24:49built on a
24:50limited window
24:50that changes
24:51and is defined
24:53by the
24:53authority at
24:54any given
24:54time.
24:55And that's
24:56why we see
24:57contradictions in
24:59the claim of
25:00Western values.
25:02I want to
25:02bring your
25:03attention to
25:04Joe Biden's
25:04farewell address.
25:05today, Joe
25:10Biden's
25:10stated, an
25:11oligarchy is
25:12taking shape in
25:14America of
25:14extreme wealth,
25:16power, and
25:17influence that
25:18threatens the
25:19entire democracy
25:20and our basic
25:21rights.
25:22Yet this has
25:23always been the
25:24reality.
25:25This has always
25:26been the reality
25:27of American
25:27politics, what
25:28Joe Biden is
25:29pointing out.
25:30Although
25:31traditionally, it's
25:33been masked.
25:34Traditionally, it's
25:35behind closed
25:36doors.
25:37But today, today
25:39we see an
25:40example, someone
25:41like Elon Musk
25:42out in the
25:43open, shaking
25:45hands with
25:46Trump, part of
25:47the government.
25:48And you see the
25:49Tesla vehicles
25:50parked right in
25:51front of the
25:51White House.
25:52This is the
25:53imagery that has
25:54been unmasked
25:55for us today.
26:04All the
26:04while, all
26:09the while, we
26:10see that living
26:13in the U.S.
26:15and merely
26:16providing the
26:17basics for our
26:18families has
26:21become intense,
26:22has become
26:23difficult, that
26:25every family,
26:26every household,
26:27every individual
26:28in some way,
26:30shape, and
26:31form struggles
26:31to even put food
26:33on the table.
26:34While they
26:34struggle to even
26:35put food on
26:36the table, we
26:38see how billions
26:39are collected
26:40and siphoned to
26:42foreign nations
26:43and foreign
26:43powers, and
26:44they accumulate
26:45in the United
26:46States in the
26:47hands of a
26:47few.
26:50And this is a
26:51system where
26:52those who are
26:53weak will face
26:55the full extent
26:56of the law.
26:57This is a
26:57system where
26:59those that are
26:59in the elite
27:00positions, take
27:02for example,
27:03President Biden
27:04before he left
27:05office, he
27:05pardoned his
27:06son, Hunter
27:07Biden, and
27:08his family,
27:08exonerating them
27:09of crimes.
27:11This is a
27:11system where
27:12the powerful
27:13get away with
27:14their, get
27:15away with
27:15their, keep
27:17keeping, watching
27:18out for their
27:19own, and where
27:20the, those on
27:21the bottom are
27:22oppressed and
27:23victimized.
27:23and then, before
27:27we conclude, we
27:29must discuss the
27:30contrast and
27:32justice of the
27:33Islamic system.
27:35Islam, by
27:36contrast, maintains
27:38fixed principles
27:39and values.
27:40It mandates
27:41justice for all,
27:42from the common
27:43person to those
27:45in positions of
27:46power.
27:47All answer to the
27:48creator, not
27:49pressure from
27:50lobbyists.
27:50Prophet Muhammad,
27:54peace and blessings
27:54be upon him,
27:56said, do you
27:57intercede regarding
27:58a punishment
27:59prescribed by
28:00Allah?
28:01The Prophet then
28:01stood up and
28:02addressing the
28:03people, saying,
28:04O people, those
28:05who came before
28:06you were destroyed
28:07because if a
28:08person of high
28:09status committed
28:10theft among them,
28:11they would spare
28:11him.
28:12But if a person
28:13of lower
28:14status committed
28:15theft, they
28:18would then apply
28:18the punishment
28:19upon him.
28:21By Allah, if
28:23Fatima, the
28:24daughter of
28:25Muhammad, were
28:25to steal, I
28:26would cut off
28:27her hand.
28:30He would say
28:30that even if
28:31his beloved
28:31daughter would
28:33steal, he
28:34would be the
28:35one to carry
28:36out that
28:36justice.
28:40And let's
28:41look at how
28:41minorities are
28:42treated.
28:43Minorities are
28:44viewed today as
28:46we're constantly
28:47hearing about
28:48minorities.
28:49On one
28:50hand, either
28:51what's
28:53magnified is
28:54their mistreatment.
28:55On the other
28:55hand, they're
28:56villainized.
28:58It seems like
28:59this problem
29:00never goes
29:01away.
29:02Let's look at
29:02how Islam
29:03views minorities.
29:05Actually,
29:07Islam doesn't
29:08look at minorities
29:09who are citizens
29:10of the Islamic
29:11state, of
29:12Islamic
29:12governance.
29:14They don't
29:14look at them
29:15as minorities,
29:15but they look
29:16at them as
29:17human beings
29:18who are
29:19enshrined
29:20certain rights,
29:21who are
29:22protected from
29:23foreign aggression,
29:24who are given
29:25opportunities to
29:26trade and live
29:27amongst the
29:28Muslims and
29:28have levels
29:30of autonomy
29:31where they can
29:32practice their
29:33faith, their
29:34religion.
29:36It's a system
29:38where historically
29:39we've seen
29:39even Jews and
29:41Christians would
29:41rush to the
29:42Islamic lands as
29:44it would be a
29:44safe haven from
29:45the disenfranchisement,
29:47from the
29:47oppression that
29:48they would see
29:49in their own
29:49lands.
29:51And so the
29:52implementation of
29:53Islam today,
29:54the implementation
29:55of Islam today
29:56in the Muslim
29:57lands is not
29:59only for the
29:59betterment of
30:00Muslims, but
30:01it's for the
30:01betterment of
30:02all of humanity.
30:03and in my
30:10final few
30:11statements,
30:12I'd like to
30:16highlight that
30:17truth today
30:20is a threat
30:21to power.
30:24We see that
30:26the silencing
30:26of our voices,
30:28the online
30:28bans,
30:29the offline
30:30arrests,
30:31proves that
30:32our message
30:33threatens their
30:34control.
30:35Each crackdown
30:36is a testament
30:37to our strength
30:38and to their
30:39desperation.
30:40Despite the
30:41bans, the
30:42scene of
30:44Gaza's
30:44resilience reaches
30:45millions around
30:47the world,
30:48breaking through
30:48censorship.
30:50Our voices for
30:51justice grow
30:52louder from
30:53all individuals of
30:54conscience around
30:55the world,
30:56cutting through
30:57deception and
30:58control.
30:58people and
31:00for the
31:01believers,
31:02we have an
31:03obligation to
31:04speak out.
31:05We have an
31:06obligation to
31:07speak up.
31:08As Allah
31:08mentions in
31:09the Quran,
31:22Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala
31:24mentions in the Quran,
31:25in the translation,
31:26in Surah Ali Imran,
31:28Ayah 110,
31:29you are the best of nations,
31:31produced as an example
31:32for mankind.
31:34You enjoin what is right,
31:35you forbid what is wrong,
31:37and you believe in Allah.
31:39So enjoining of the good,
31:40and forbidding of the evil,
31:42to stand up for the truth,
31:43is tied,
31:44Allah ties it,
31:45to our belief in Allah.
31:47This is what distinguishes us.
31:49It's not a status that comes,
31:51it's a status only granted
31:53to those who uphold
31:55the responsibility and obligation.
31:57And may Allah help us
31:58become those
31:59who raise our voices for the truth.
32:02Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala mentions
32:04in translation of the meaning of the ayah
32:07from chapter 4, verse 135,
32:10O you who believe,
32:13uphold justice and bear witness to God,
32:16even if it is against yourselves,
32:18your parents,
32:19or your close relatives,
32:21whether the person is rich or poor,
32:23God can best take care of both.
32:25Refrain from following your own desire,
32:28so that you can act justly,
32:30if you distort or neglect justice.
32:33God is fully aware,
32:35Allah is fully aware of what you do.
32:37The truth,
32:39the truth in Islam
32:40is not tied to personal benefit,
32:43but to accountability
32:44before our Creator.
32:47I want to remind,
32:49remind everyone
32:51that confronting
32:54those in positions of power,
32:59those who establish
33:01tyranny on the land,
33:02is nothing new.
33:03Remember the example
33:06of Musa alayhi salam
33:07and Harun alayhi salam,
33:09who were charged with the task
33:11of confronting Fir'aun, Pharaoh.
33:15And when that happens,
33:17they feel a sense of fear,
33:20a sense of apprehension.
33:22Are we going to go against the one
33:23who can harm us?
33:26And Allah responds to them.
33:28Allah reassures them.
