A disturbing video has surfaced from Ghaziabad showing a police officer allegedly threatening a woman complainant, suggesting that a false rape case could be filed against her husband. The incident reportedly occurred at the Sikanderpur Police Station in the Teela Mod area. In the viral footage, the officer is heard saying, “As soon as a rape case is filed, the person goes to jail—whether he has done anything or not.”
The video also captured the officer, identified by users as Vimal Kumar, the in-charge of Sikanderpur Chowki, using abusive language and yelling at the woman:
“Kya karwayi karein yeh bata, tu kya karwayi karein. Zyada kanoonchi ban rahi hai.”
“Zyada bole jaa rahi hai, ch**a samajh rahi hai kya humein?”*
The clip sparked massive outrage online, with many users calling for strict action. One user wrote, “Filing a rape case has become a joke in India. This video proves how casually it’s misused.”
Another added, “This cop doesn’t know how to talk to a woman, let alone threaten her with such serious charges.”
However, a few users urged caution, noting that the full context of the video is unknown. “There is more to this before and after. Don’t jump to conclusions,” said one post.
As of now, the Ghaziabad Police have issued an official statement police inspector removed from charge. Netizens continue to demand accountability and transparency in the investigation.
