00:09Three teenagers taken to hospital following stabbing at the weekend.
00:14Three teenagers were rushed to hospital last night after a reported stabbing in Portobello.
00:19Police in Edinburgh were called to a disturbance at around 10.55pm on Saturday April 12th in Bath Street and Mentone Avenue.
00:25Two men aged 18 and a 17-year-old man were rushed to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh, where they remain in a stable condition.
00:33A Police Scotland spokesperson said,
00:36Around 10.55pm on Saturday April 12th, three men aged 17, 18 and 18 years were found injured following a report of a disturbance in Bath Street and Mentone Avenue, Portobello, Edinburgh.
00:49They remain in the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh, where medical staff describe their condition as stable.
00:53Inquiries into the incident are continuing.
00:58Changes to controversial traffic schemes still not implemented a year after they were agreed.
01:03Changes to a controversial Edinburgh traffic scheme have still not been implemented more than a year after they were agreed.
01:09The City Council's Transport and Environment Committee voted in March 2024 to reopen roads in Morningside's Braid Estate to traffic and install a segregated cycle lane on Hermitage Drive and Braid Avenue, after a survey showed that was the option with most support among residents.
01:24But locals launched a petition to keep the traffic restrictions, while cycle campaign group Spokes has spoken out against the segregated cycle lanes.
01:34In addition, the safety audit of the proposed changes, which was not completed until after the decision was made, highlighted several potential accident spots.
01:42And 13 months on, the roads are still closed, and the bollards and planters blocking traffic remain in place.
