00:00I yield one minute to the gentlewoman from Ohio, distinguished member of the
00:03Budget Committee, Ms. Kaptur.
00:05The gentlelady is recognized for one minute.
00:07Thank you, Ranking Member Boyle.
00:13Mr. Speaker, I rise today to stand against the GOP's billionaire bonanza.
00:19It cashes out precious health care dollars and enriches ultra-wealthy billionaires
00:26and leaves ordinary Americans to pick up the tab.
00:32My colleagues across the aisle propose to add an astounding $14 trillion more to our debt over the next decade.
00:40Why?
00:41To fund more tax cuts for billionaires.
00:44How?
00:45Speaker Johnson cuts hundreds of billions of dollars from Medicaid, a lifeline for millions of our citizens,
00:51including more than 200,000 in the district I represent.
00:55Every hospital I represent sustains itself with Medicaid and Medicare.
01:01This debate isn't just about the numbers on a balance sheet.
01:04It's about the health of the American people.
01:07And how will we keep our hospitals open, our nursing homes open?
01:11How do we take care of the American people's health?
01:14The Republican resolution is totally irresponsible.
01:18It's an abdication of our duty to serve all the American people, not just those at the top.
01:25Mr. Speaker, the top 1% of earners in this nation control more wealth than the bottom 50%.
01:32It's time for economic fairness.
01:34Vote no on this bill.
01:36And I yield back.
01:37Thank you, Sean.
01:38They yield back.
