Transcript
00:00This is Vanessa Hudgens.
00:03Welcome to Miss Mojo, and today we're counting down our picks for the times The Masked Singer panel
00:08correctly guessed the celeb beneath the mask before their big reveal.
00:12I agree with what Robin said. It's Dionne Warwick.
00:18Number 10. Caitlyn Jenner as Phoenix.
00:21Season 5. Caitlyn Jenner has a long and impressive resume,
00:24but we don't think she'll be adding singing to her special skills anytime soon.
00:27Don't stop, make it pop, DJ, blow my speakers up tonight, I'ma fight till I see the sunlight.
00:36Some of the clues really found the flames until the answer was burning bright.
00:39Then there was the voice. Come on, Caitlyn. Were you even trying to disguise it?
00:44Top drop and playing my favourite CDs, pulling up to all the parties, gonna get a little bit tipsy.
00:51Anyway, you know something or someone is a dead giveaway when even Ken Jeong guesses it correctly.
00:56Together with Jenny McCarthy, he guessed the former Olympian as his first impression guess.
01:01By the unmasking, it was only Jenny who stayed with her initial inkling.
01:04With Ken switching to RuPaul, well, just a few moments later, karma would sashay his way.
01:10With the gold medalist, TV personality and author, Caitlyn Jenner!
01:18Good! You guessed it!
01:24Ken, you've always been an idiot. What are we gonna do with you? I don't know.
01:29Number 9. Catherine McPhee and David Foster as Banana Split.
01:32Season 6. It's hard enough for the judges to decipher one voice, but here they had to
01:37Banana split their attention between two.
01:40I'm singing in the rain. I'm just singing in the rain.
01:46What a glorious feeling. I'm happy again.
01:52Well, kind of.
01:53Most weeks, they had just one voice to scoop out of their guesses,
01:56since Banana usually accompanied ice cream on the piano.
01:58Even so, after their first performance, everyone except Robin guessed musical powerhouse couple
02:03David Foster and Catherine McPhee.
02:05The brightest colours fill my head. A million dreams are keeping me awake.
02:15It wasn't the first time McPhee had been guest on the show.
02:18Robin and Nicole thought that she was the son in Season 4.
02:21Anyway, they were unmasked in the semi-finals, with everyone sticking to their guesses except Robin,
02:26who changed his, and was still wrong.
02:28Singer-songwriting actress Catherine McPhee
02:31is 16-time Grammy Award winning David Foster.
02:36Oh my god!
02:38No!
02:39Yes! Come on!
02:41Yes!
02:41God! Oh my god!
02:43Oh my god!
02:44No way!
02:45Number 8. Tori Spelling as Unicorn
02:48Season 1.
02:49Let's cast our minds all the way back to Season 1,
02:52where we were still getting used to the sight of the elegant unicorn singing pop on our televisions.
02:57This is my unicorn!
02:59Unity!
03:00Security!
03:02Definitely not Madonna!
03:06The panel was still warming up, so their first guesses included Lindsay Lohan, Paris Hilton, and Ireland Baldwin.
03:13No one guessed the Beverly Hills 90210 star.
03:16Well, not yet.
03:17This unicorn had the panel chasing rainbows and coming up empty until week 5.
03:21As soon as I heard the voice, it's someone older, and it's someone who's not a singer.
03:26I can't figure it out.
03:28After singing I Love It by Icona Pop featuring Charli XCX,
03:31it was time for the judges to make their final guesses.
03:34Robin went with Gabby Douglas.
03:36Jenny guessed Lauren Conrad.
03:37Nicole thought it might be Denise Richards.
03:39And Ken guessed...
03:41It's Tori's Ballad!
03:44It's Tori's Ballad!
03:45It's Tori's Ballad!
03:46It's Tori's Ballad!
03:46It's Tori's Ballad!
03:47Redemption!
03:48Ken got it right!
03:51I'm never right!
03:52Number 7.
03:53Macy Gray as Sea Queen.
03:55Season 10.
03:56The Sea Queen made her debut in week 5 as a wildcard edition.
04:00We'd say it's a huge compliment when your voice is so iconic that viewers recognize it instantly.
04:05I don't know if it was day or night I started kissing everything inside
04:12But when I kissed the car I found on 37 night
04:16It broke my little bottle of love The portion of the night
04:21Unfortunately, that doesn't exactly serve many singers well in this competition.
04:25Still, the panel's first impression guesses showed that they were way out of their depths.
04:29Rescue me And take me in your arms
04:33Rescue me
04:34I've been judging the car
04:36Meanwhile, Sea Queen sailed through to fourth place,
04:39blowing away the panel and audience with hit after hit.
04:43Still, by her elimination, the judges were all in agreement on who was under the mask.
04:47The amazing and iconic Macy Gray!
04:55Yes!
04:57Gray also competed in the UK version, where her easily distinct voice led to an early elimination.
05:02Number 6, Leigh-Anne Rimes as Sun
05:05Season 4
05:06Season 4 was a bright spot for the panel, with them shining on correct guesses all over the place.
05:11For instance, Nicole correctly guessed Snow Owls, while Jenny guessed Gremlin from the off.
05:23However, Sun kept them in the shade for a while, with the panel guessing the likes of Natasha Bedingfield, Demi Lovato, and Gwyneth Paltrow.
05:30I hope you find your peace, falling on your knees, praying...
05:39Just before the Season 4 winner was unmasked, the panel made their final guesses.
05:44Robin thought it might be Catherine McPhee, while Ken guessed Mandy Moore.
05:48However, Nicole and golden-eared Jenny had pieced together some clues that shed some light on who was under the mask.
05:54The one and only Leigh-Anne Rimes.
05:57There were all these clues, early riser, blue clues, blueberries, blue wings everywhere, for her song Blue, which won her Grammy.
06:06Oh!
06:06So, I agree with Jenny, and I believe this is Leigh-Anne Rimes.
06:12Number 5, Marlon Ackerman as Squirrel
06:14Season 9, this masked singer managed to squirrel away her identity for just two episodes, before getting eliminated.
06:22Where there is desire, there is gonna be a flame
06:25Where there is a flame, someone's bound to get burned
06:30She wasn't the only one sent packing that night, nor the only one the panel correctly guessed.
06:35Yes, even on the wholesome Sesame Street night, Jackalope and Squirrel got the boot.
06:39Just the two of us, building them castles in the sky
06:45Just the two of us, you and I
06:48Before Squirrel's unmasking, the panel threw out some nutty guesses like Heather Graham, Anne Hathaway, Catherine Heigl and Kate Hudson.
06:55By the final round, only Jenny cracked the right answer.
06:58It was a bit embarrassing for Ken, who'd missed a clue about Couples Retreat, a film that they both appeared in.
07:04Well, someone who definitely should have recognized you.
07:07I'm so sorry.
07:09I totally forgot about Couples Retreat.
07:12Why was that memorable?
07:13I cannot believe.
07:15Unbelievable.
07:16Old GoldenEars struck again with Night Owl that very same season.
07:20Number 4, Penn and Teller as Hydra
07:23Season 7, Penn and Teller are masters of illusion, and their time on The Masked Singer was no exception.
07:28Some people can recognize my voice, so we gave Teller actually most of the singing, so that maybe you wouldn't recognize his voice as much.
07:37For starters, the three-headed creature was enough to throw anyone off their game.
07:41Since Teller is usually the silent one in their magic act, they pulled off a sleight of hand by giving him the majority of the vocals.
07:49Even then, Teller manipulated his voice to keep the panel guessing.
07:52They throw out guesses ranging from Jeff Bridges, John Goodman, and Steve Buscemi, to Steve Martin, Martin Short, and Chevy Chase, and even Bert and Ernie.
08:10Only one person managed to break the duo's spell, and she wasn't even a regular panelist.
08:16She got it, Nicole!
08:17You nailed it!
08:18You nailed it!
08:19This is her first day on the job!
08:20Yeah!
08:21Good job, Nicole!
08:22She did way better than Ken Jeong has ever done!
08:25Number 3, Vanessa Hudgens as Goldfish
08:27Season 11
08:28As Robin and Nicole will tell you, some leopards can't change their spots, but Goldfish was a little harder to reel in.
08:35I shouldn't know it was strange
08:38You only come out at night
08:42The panel was sure that this was someone who'd grown up in the spotlight,
08:45Throwing out guesses like Hilary Duff, Sarah Hyland, Selena Gomez, and Lea Michele.
08:50But it was Rita Ora who hooked the right answer before Goldfish's unmasking.
08:54Yeah! Yeah! Yeah! Yeah!
08:59Known for her eye-roll-inducing guesses on the UK version,
09:03Rita proved that she had her head in the game this time.
09:06She realised Goldfish was someone she had a close personal connection to, and Jenny agreed with her guess.
09:11Princess clues are for the movie Princess Switch.
09:15The vampire clue, she played one in the movie Freaks of Nature.
09:19This is...
09:20Vanessa Hudgens.
09:22It turns out that they had both been swimming in the right direction.
09:26Number 2, Dionne Warwick as Mouse
09:28Season 3
09:29This season had some solid guesses, with Jenny and Ken correctly identifying Rhino,
09:34and nearly everyone guessing T-Rex's identity.
09:37But as we've seen before, some legends are just too big to hide their voices.
09:40You can make it in a big faduna
09:44But you'll ever get here soon
09:47The only thing that might throw the judges off is thinking.
09:52There's no way someone like Dionne Warwick would do this show.
09:55It could be a legend, it could be someone singing like a legend.
09:58In everlasting love
10:01Oh yes it will now
10:04You've brought sunshine out to my life
10:07Maybe it was wishful thinking, or perhaps her voice was just too unmistakable to be anyone else.
10:13But by the time Mouse was unmasked, everyone, except Ken, who guessed Tina Turner, knew exactly who it was.
10:19Warwick created quite the storm on the UK version of The Masked Singer 2.
10:23It's Dionne Warwick
10:27Yes it is

10:45Number 1. Shaka Khan as Miss Monster Season 3
10:49Warwick wasn't the only legend unmasked this season.
10:51Though Nicole and guest panelist Jamie Foxx actually guessed Warwick for this one.
10:56They weren't the only ones guessing musical royalty, with Jenny guessing Mary J. Blige, and Ken suggesting Dolly Parton.
11:02Miss Monster was eliminated in week two. By then, everyone had changed their guesses.
11:15Jenny went with Queen Latifah, Ken guessed Reba McIntyre, and guest judge Leah Remini picked Mary Wilson.
11:22I'm young, and I love to be young. I'm free, and I'm free, and I'm free, to live my life the way I'm on.
11:34But Robin and Nicole connected the clues to the voice for a guess that was more marvellous than monstrous, and they didn't miss.
11:40Nick Cannon, however, claimed that he knew from day one, and was just waiting for everyone else to catch up.
11:45I heard that iconic voice when you hit that first. I said, that's Shaka Khan.
11:52Oh, I had to keep it, but I was like, how did you guys not hear?
11:55Did you guess any of these celebs? Let us know in the comments.
