Burnley FC Writer Matt Scrafton gives his verdict on the 0-0 draw with Derby County on April 9, 2025.
Transcript
00:00Just heading out of Pride Park where Burnley had played out in 0-0 draw.
00:06A result we've seen quite a few times this season, 12 times to be exact, but not seen in a while.
00:12I think the first 0-0 draw and over-nil since February, the precedent at Deepdale.
00:18Yeah, but probably in hindsight it probably is a point game the way the game transpired.
00:23Burnley started well, had three good chances in the first half an hour or so.
00:27But after that it sort of went a bit upside down.
00:30Derby, they made it the game they wanted. It was a battle, it was ugly.
00:33It was balls in the box, long throws, corners.
00:36Direct but really effective, no criticism whatsoever.
00:39John Eustace is a very good manager, knows what he's doing.
00:42And they're writing the mixer, relegation scrap, so they had to fight for everything.
00:47And we've had that Burnley come away unscathed in terms of not conceding,
00:51not the clean sheets, not beating.
00:53And with Sheffield United losing at Millwall, it's not a bad night.
00:57It could have been a lot worse.
00:58I see Leeds win, they take the top spot.
01:00But yeah, Burnley remain 28 in Breton, 29th clean sheet.
01:05And they stay in the top two, and the gap is still two points to third.
01:07So all nor nor a bad night ahead of Norwich on Friday.
01:11.
