US President Trump says he will show by winning the midterm elections
Transcript
00:01Republicans out there, you just got to get there. Close your eyes and get there.
00:06It's a phenomenal bill. Stop grandstanding. Just stop grandstanding.
00:12Boy, oh boy, oh boy.
00:16You know, their policy, the Democrats, is horrible. It's horrible.
00:20Think of it, open borders. Just all of the horrible, stupid things they have.
00:26You don't have energy. You don't have anything. They've lost their confidence. Everything is bad.
00:32But the one thing, they always vote in unison. You don't see somebody that's holding up.
00:36I'm going to hold up. And the alternative is hell. You know, the alternative is hell.
00:42So the Republicans just have one little thing the Republican Party has to do is get together and damn vote.
00:49If you're a single guy or a second guy, and you fight like hell for what you get.
00:54And then in the end, you have to vote because the policy is phenomenal.
00:58You know, they don't get every little ounce. It doesn't work that way.
01:02And this bill that we're working on now is the best I think we've ever passed.
01:09Mike, wherever you may be, it's the best. I think it's the best thing we've, we'll get it passed.
01:14But I think it's going to be the most important thing we've ever passed.
01:17It's the best thing we've ever passed.
01:18And I do think that the war with the world, which is not a war at all, because they're all coming here.
01:23Japan is coming here as we speak.
01:26They're in a plane flying, lots of them, all tough negotiators.
01:29But things that people wouldn't have given us two years ago, wouldn't have even thought of it two years ago, three years ago, five years ago, seven.
01:36They're giving us everything.
01:38They don't want tariffs on themselves.
01:41And it's very simple.
01:43We're making deals and people are paying tariffs.
01:47Countries are paying tariffs.
01:49Right now, China's paying a 104 percent tariff.
01:53Think of it, 104 percent.
01:57Now, it sounds ridiculous, but they charged us for many items, 100 percent, 125 percent.
02:04Many countries have.
02:05They've ripped us off left and right.
02:06But now it's our turn to do the ripping.
02:11That's okay.
02:12We're going to make our country even stronger, stronger than it ever was.
02:17And 20, 26 Republicans will fight for every state, every seat, and every single vote.
02:22We're going to fight like hell.
02:24I intend to personally campaign for candidates all across the country.
02:28And we just won't.
02:31You're right about that.
02:33We won't just keep our majorities.
02:37We want to expand our majorities by a lot.
02:39You know, there's this thing about midterm elections that you have a president and the president.
02:45They never seem to win.
02:46I don't understand.
02:46They never seem to win the midterm elections.
02:49And I have no idea why.
02:52You know, we're not going to let that be a self-fulfilling prophecy.
02:55I have no idea why.
02:57We're setting records right now.
02:58We're getting more things approved than any president has ever done in the first hundred days.
03:03It's not even close.
03:04I had somebody say the most successful month, first month in the history.
03:10Now they said the most successful hundred days in the history of our country.
03:15And I believe that's right.
03:17And we're going to continue that way, if not more so.
03:20And we're going to do tremendously in midterms.
03:22There's no reason we should do great in the midterms.
03:25There's this thing that for some reason, the president, whoever the president is, the midterms are tough.
03:31Why would they be tough?
03:32If we're doing great, they should be easy.
03:34And I'm telling you, we've got to win a lot more.
03:37But as Mike said before, I happened to listen to him.
03:40He was on C-SPAN 1.
03:42That's a big upgrade, right?
03:45I was listening as I was putting on the tie.
03:47How does it look?
03:49He was on C-SPAN 1.
03:50And they were talking about that.
03:52And I thought to myself, because people love him and they love your leaders.
03:57They love, really, the party is just doing well.
04:00A couple we could do without, to be honest with you.
04:02But the party is doing well.
04:05And there's no reason we shouldn't just get together and win these midterms and win them by a lot.
04:09Because seven, that I heard Mike talking about before, seven is not really enough.
04:15But we lived for one for a period of time.
04:18You know, the only thing good about seven, when you have one, and now all of a sudden you have seven,
04:24it sounds like it's like a landslide.
04:26It's so good.
04:28It's like the most amazing thing.
04:31Seven sounds so good when I hear that.
04:33It sounds like we can't be beaten.
04:35And we should be 50, 60 up.
04:38Honestly, we should be 100 up.
04:40Because based on policy, these people have the worst policy that anybody's ever seen.
04:45There's something wrong with them.
04:47Honestly, there's something wrong with them.
04:49All this crap.
04:50Thirteen House Democrats currently represent districts that voted for Trump and voted for Trump big.
04:57And in 2026, we're going to tell them, all 13, that you're fired.
05:02Get out.
05:02Out.
05:03Get out.
05:06No reason for that.
05:07Thirteen.
05:08But 13 is a small number compared to some of these stats.
05:12We are going to work very hard.
05:14I'm going to do tele-rallies.
05:15You know tele-rallies?
05:16I'll do rallies for a lot of you, but I'll do tele-rallies at a minimum.
05:20And we just had two great elections, by the way.
05:22And I heard everybody is introducing our two new Congress.
05:25Where are they, please?
05:26Stand up.
05:27I want to look you in the eye.
05:29I want to look you in the eye, Randy.
05:32Look at the two of them.
05:34Where's...
05:34What a job you did, man.
05:37Huh?
05:38You were never in doubt.
05:39Where the hell...
05:41Where is our second person here?
05:43I know he's...
05:44Oh, there he is.
05:45Boy, they gave him a lousy seat.
05:46He's behind...
05:47Good.
05:51Great job.
05:51We're proud of you, man.
05:52Great job.
05:54Great job.
05:56And, you know, those...
05:58Both elections, they were saying,
05:59it's going to be close.
06:00It's going to be close.
06:01And I was listening.
06:03And they won by, like...
06:04You won by, what, 17 points?
06:0518 points?
06:06I don't think that's close.
06:08I don't think it's close.
06:10So we won by 15 and 18 points.
06:13And they're saying,
06:15it was a terrible evening for Trump.
06:16Can you believe it?
06:17Terrible evening.
06:18They only won by 18 points and 15 points.
06:21Anyway, good job, both of you.
06:23Good job.
06:26But in addition to our fantastic House Speaker,
06:29we're pleased to be joined by
06:31Majority Leader Steve Skillis.
06:34And I watched you, too, Steve.
06:36I watched you on C-SPAN 1.
06:41And Steve has suffered greatly.
06:43I mean, I was there the night
06:45that it looked like he wasn't going to make it.
06:46He's very brave.
06:47He suffered greatly.
06:49And I tell the story about the baseball game
06:51where, I mean, he was really...
06:53The doctor told me,
06:54sir, I've never had anybody lose so much blood.
06:57It's not looking good.
06:58And his wife loved him.
07:00She was such a disaster that night.
07:02She was crying.
07:03She was crying.
07:04Because I'd been with people
07:05that were in serious trouble
07:06and the wives couldn't care.
07:08They couldn't care less.
07:10In fact, after they recovered,
07:13I said, do yourself a favor.
07:14Get rid of the wife.
07:15She couldn't...
07:16No, I'm only kidding, of course.
07:19I'm only kidding.
07:20I like to say I'm only kidding.
07:21That way, that cleans it up
07:22a little bit for the press.
07:24I say I was only kidding.
07:26Now, I've seen some wives
07:27that were truly not bothered too much.
07:30I had one where the dog died
07:31and the husband died on the same day.
07:33And I said, it's too bad about Harry.
07:35No, no, but Lucy died.
07:37Lucy, oh my God.
07:38Harry didn't mean...
07:39He left her a fortune too.
07:40Can you believe it?
07:42Harry didn't matter.
07:43The dog mattered a lot.
07:45But I was with Steve
07:47and he was really...
07:48You know, that was a tough thing.
07:49And then, amazingly,
07:51he was like a year later,
07:52he was in the baseball game
07:54against the Democrats
07:55and he's playing second base.
07:57And he was having a hard time.
07:59You know, it's a hard time getting around.
08:00And with his luck,
08:02a shot was hit to him on the ground.
08:04A ground ball.
08:06And he got down
08:08and that ball was...
08:09No way that ball was...
08:10It was right at him.
08:10But really, it was whacked.
08:12I don't know who the hell hit it.
08:13It looked like a major league ground ball.
08:16And Steve went down
08:17and blocked that sucker
08:19and got on his knees
08:20and threw it to first base.
08:22It was the most unbelievable thing
08:24that it could happen.
08:25This was God...
08:26This was God watching the game,
08:28I'm telling you.
08:28Does everybody remember that?
08:31He blocked it
08:32and knocked the hell out of his foot.
08:35Not his glove.
08:36It was his foot.
08:37And he got down
08:39and grabbed the ball,
08:40threw it out
08:40and got the runner by quite a bit.
08:43And they then took him out of the game.
08:46And I said,
08:46what a great move.
08:47That was a good manager.
08:48They took him out of the game
08:49because you can't improve on that,
08:50let me tell you.
08:51But he had great courage
08:53and amazing how he's done.
08:55And he's been very special
08:57and all of us know it.
08:59He's really done great.
09:00Another man I've really gotten to know a lot
09:03and I think he's fantastic
09:05is Tom Emmer, majority whip.
09:07I think he's fantastic.
09:09Where's Tom?
09:11Where's Tom?
09:13Where is our Tom?
09:15Because I want to see his wife.
09:16You know, his wife is better than him.
09:19He admits it.
09:20Oh, that's good.
09:22Hi, Tom.
09:23So where is she, Tom?
09:25Oh, no.
09:26She's not.
09:27She's home.
09:28She's watching C-SPIN.
09:29Yeah, I know.
09:31Thank you, Tom.
09:32Great job you do.
09:34And Lisa,
09:35you were up talking about
09:36Donald Trump tonight.
09:38And Lisa McClain,
09:39conference chair,
09:40she was talking about Trump.
09:43And I appreciate it, Lisa.
09:45Lisa, where are you, Lisa?
09:47She's like a roast.
09:50Thank you, darling.
09:51I saw your whole speech.
09:53I watched you and Steve and Mike.
09:54I watched the whole thing.
09:55Then they said,
09:55sir, we have to leave.
09:57You're going to be late.
09:57I said,
09:58I don't want to watch your speeches.
09:59And we have Richard Hudson,
10:01the NRCC chairman,
10:02who set the record tonight.
10:04Richard, great going.
10:08That's a great job.
10:11And Brian Jack,
10:13who was with me
10:14from day one of my political career,
10:16he was so fantastic.
10:18He was so fantastic.
10:20And he came to me,
10:23he said,
10:23do you think it would be okay?
10:24He wanted to run for Congress.
10:25He always wanted to run for Congress.
10:27It was the most important thing.
10:29But he was with me,
10:30knows so much about politics
10:31and boxing.
10:32He knows a lot about boxing, too,
10:34but he loves politics.
10:35But he really just wanted to run.
10:37I think his ambition
10:38was to be a congressman.
10:39And the seat came due,
10:42a good member of Congress
10:44actually retired,
10:45and Brian in Georgia.
10:46And Brian said,
10:47what do you think, sir?
10:50I said,
10:50well, you got my endorsement.
10:52And he won by a lot,
10:54and he's never looked back.
10:55He's a fantastic guy
10:57and a great political leader,
10:59a great politician,
11:00Brian Jack.
11:01Where are you, Brian?
11:02Where are you, Brian?
11:05Hi, Brian.
11:08Great job.
11:09Proud of you, Brian.
11:10And more than 160 members of Congress,
11:13and I'd like to really,
11:14you've done incredibly well.
11:16They're really looking back.
11:18And, you know,
11:18I said before,
11:20the Democrats have taken
11:22a lot of beatings.
11:23They have lost their confidence.
11:24They've gone crazy.
11:27They've gone crazy.
11:28How about this new one they have?
11:30Their new star, Crockett.
11:31How about her?
11:33Is she, is that real?
11:34Are they serious about that?
11:35That's their new star?
11:37If that's their new star,
11:38they're in serious trouble.
11:40I mean, this is Crockett.
11:42Oh, man.
11:43Oh, man.
11:44But we have,
11:45we've done a job,
11:46but they've totally lost
11:47their confidence.
11:49And it's a hard thing
11:51when you lose your confidence.
11:53But they have.
11:54They've taken a lot of beatings.
11:55And now they're going to rely on Crockett
11:57to bring them back.
11:58Crockett's going to bring them back.
11:59You ever watch this?
12:00Last November,
12:01all the leaders here tonight
12:03were given a mandate
12:04from the American people.
12:05And at the presidential level,
12:07we won,
12:08think of this,
12:09all seven swing states.
12:10We won the electoral college
12:12312 to 226.
12:14That's not bad.
12:14Remember?
12:16The fake news was saying
12:17it's going to be tough
12:19because people like Trump,
12:21but he should be able
12:22to get 270.
12:24I actually went to Nebraska
12:26and campaigned for one vote.
12:29I went to New Hampshire.
12:31I campaigned because they said
12:33that it could be where 270, 269.
12:37So I'm going to all the places
12:38and I'm trying to get one.
12:39We won Nebraska big,
12:41but there was one area.
12:42And I went there.
12:44I went all over the place campaigning.
12:46And then we get 312.
12:48But we won in a landslide too
12:51because we won the popular vote
12:53for the first time
12:54of a Republican in decades.
12:56And now I think
12:57that's going to be done routinely.
12:59We won 85% of all counties in America,
13:04525 for them and 2,725 for us.
13:09That's that map that you see.
13:10It's all red except for the two corners.
13:12They have a little blue,
13:13a little line of blue.
13:15For the first time in history,
13:16all 50 states shifted
13:17toward the Republican Party.
13:19First time in history.
13:20It's never happened.
13:20It's a shift.
13:21It shifted Republican.
13:23And today there are more
13:24registered Republicans
13:25at any time
13:27in the history of our country.
13:28How good?
13:29How about that?
13:33Meanwhile, approval ratings
13:35for the Democrat Party
13:36have plunged
13:37to the lowest level
13:39ever recorded.
13:40They're at 26%.
13:42So you tell me
13:43about the midterms, right?
13:4426.
13:45The lowest level ever
13:46for either party.
13:48The Republican Party
13:50is a much bigger party now
13:51than it was ever before.
13:53And I must say
13:55that it's the biggest now
13:57since you heard the name
13:59Donald J. Trump
14:00running as a politician.
14:01You heard the name before
14:02but not as a politician.
14:04I said to my wife,
14:05you know,
14:05I think I'm going to do this thing.
14:07Do I have your approval?
14:08Yes, darling.
14:08I think you'll win.
14:09See, she's a supportive first lady.
14:12I don't know if she believed it or not
14:13but she said it.
14:15She said,
14:15yes, darling.
14:16I think you'll win.
14:17How do you think I'll do?
14:18Oh, darling,
14:19you'll win very easily.
14:21Even though I've never done it before.
14:23I said,
14:23I have one problem.
14:24I've never done it before.
14:25She said,
14:26that doesn't matter.
14:26You're so talented.
14:28I said,
14:28thank you very much.
14:29This is why
14:30we get along.
14:31It's easy to get along like that.
14:33But we have
14:35far more people
14:36and far more enthusiasm
14:37than the party's ever had.
14:39I think I could almost say
14:40than any party's ever had.
14:41I don't think any party's ever
14:43had more enthusiasm
14:44than us
14:45and spirit.
14:47A lot of that's our leadership.
14:49The Democrats are
14:50a broken party
14:51with bad policy.
14:53They've lost so much
14:55and
14:56both as politicians
14:58and as people,
14:59they've lost.
15:00The stage is set
15:01for a monumental victory
15:02for the kids in the midterms.
15:04And many of you,
15:05I guess most of you,
15:06so many
15:07great congressmen
15:09and women here.
15:11You got some senators here also.
15:12But many of you are,
15:14all of you are up.
15:15We've got to,
15:16we've got to win.
15:17We've got to work really hard
15:18or we've got to win
15:19because there's no way
15:20they should be winning
15:21based on policy
15:22and it's ultimately
15:23about policy.
15:24We simply have to
15:25keep our promises
15:26to the people
15:27and we have to
15:28very simply
15:29put America first.
15:32Put America first.
15:34And I said,
15:35I ran on common sense.
15:37You know,
15:37I ran on common sense.
15:38It sounds like a
15:39phrase that would have been used.
15:42I don't know.
15:42Nobody tells me
15:43it was used in politics before.
15:44Now everybody's used it.
15:45I see the Democrats,
15:46some Democrat guy
15:47who's a real sleazeball,
15:49got up.
15:50He said,
15:50yeah,
15:50I ran on common sense.
15:52That's what I did.
15:53Common sense.
15:53Yeah.
15:55And I said,
15:55gee,
15:56the problem in politics,
15:57you come up
15:58with a little slogan
15:59and they copy it.
16:01But you know,
16:01they copied
16:02no tax on tips.
16:03Remember,
16:03I said no tax on tips.
16:05Nevada hadn't been won
16:06for many years
16:07by a Republican
16:08and a state of Nevada
16:11and don't ever
16:13call it Nevada.
16:14You'll lose 25%.
16:16Call it Nevada.
16:18It's true.
16:20It seems almost nicer
16:22the other way.
16:23Nevada
16:24sounds like Brooklyn.
16:26Does that make sense?
16:28I come from Nevada,
16:29but don't ever call it Nevada.
16:32call it Nevada.
16:34But as you know,
16:35the corrupt
16:35globalist establishment
16:37that ruled
16:38our country for decades
16:40is now complaining
16:41that I'm doing exactly
16:43what I pledged to do
16:45in the campaign.
16:46All of these things,
16:47tariffs,
16:49the men and women's force,
16:51everything,
16:52the borders,
16:52strong borders.
16:54We have the strongest border
16:55we've ever had today.
16:56It was just announced.
16:58Strongest border.
17:00They don't want to write that.
17:01You know,
17:02they forget.
17:03They forget.
17:04Eggs.
17:05I came in,
17:06eggs.
17:07Not a very glamorous
17:08thing to talk,
17:09but eggs.
17:10I was in for one week
17:12and they said,
17:12egg prices are soaring.
17:14I said,
17:14I've just been here.
17:15I didn't know this.
17:16Please.
17:17I didn't know it.
17:18The fake news.
17:19They're going,
17:19egg prices are soaring.
17:22I said,
17:22man,
17:24I just got here.
17:25You know,
17:26let me know about it.
17:26What's going on with eggs?
17:28Tell me.
17:29So they gave me
17:30a little bit of a,
17:31thing.
17:31And it's true.
17:32Under Biden,
17:33they soared like double,
17:34tripled,
17:34quadruple.
17:35You couldn't even get them.
17:36They were not available.
17:37They said,
17:37don't use eggs for Easter.
17:39Use the plastic,
17:41alternative plastic.
17:43We got,
17:44at Mar-a-Lago,
17:45we got plastic eggs
17:46all over the place.
17:48They said,
17:48don't use it for Easter.
17:50If you're doing
17:51an Easter egg hunt,
17:53do not use eggs.
17:56Well,
17:56we have a wonderful
17:57secretary of agriculture,
17:59as you know,
18:00Brooke Rollins.
18:02She's here someplace,
18:04I think.
18:05And she got,
18:06she went after it.
18:07When she goes after something,
18:08we don't play games,
18:09right,
18:10Brooke?
18:10And eggs,
18:12egg prices are down now.
18:13Eighty-seven percent,
18:14and you have all the eggs
18:15you want.
18:17Eighty-seven percent.
18:18And they didn't write about it.
18:20They don't talk about it.
18:22I go up,
18:22I make speeches
18:23about eggs all the time.
18:24I never get a reporter
18:25writing about it
18:26because we were successful.
18:27If you're a Republican,
18:28when you're successful
18:29in something,
18:30you have to toot
18:31your own horn.
18:32Talk about it
18:32because you're the only one
18:34that's going to.
18:35It's a pretty rough,
18:37it's a rough business,
18:38I will tell you.
18:39But the shrill voices
18:41that you're hearing
18:41this week about tariffs
18:43are the same scoundrels
18:44and frauds
18:45who never thought twice
18:46about when the United States
18:48lost 90,000 factories
18:51and plants.
18:52Think of that.
18:5290,000.
18:55How do you do 90?
18:56If you had a map,
18:57a big map the size of...
