Rain expected in Mindanao due to ITCZ; isolated showers in the rest of PH from easterlies

00:00At the moment, we do not have any low-pressure area or typhoon outside of our Philippine Area of Responsibility.

00:11Although we can still expect rain in some parts of our country,

00:15this is due to the effect of the Intertropical Convergence Zone,

00:19which is currently affecting the southern part or southern portions of Mindanao.

00:24Meanwhile, in the cold part or for the rest of the country,

00:27we can still expect the continuation of the easterlies or the hot winds coming from the Pacific Ocean.

00:33So, let's expect the hot weather.

00:35This will be experienced today in a large part of our country.

00:39At the moment, due to the effect of the Intertropical Convergence Zone,

00:42we can expect rain in some parts of Mindanao and also here in Palawan.

00:47And for the rest of the country, the hot weather will continue.

00:51So, we can expect that this kind of weather will last until the upcoming weekend.

00:59So, the weather will continue today here in Luzon.

01:02As we mentioned earlier, we can expect the hot weather in a large part of our country,

01:07especially in the afternoon.

01:09And if it rains, it will be followed by thunderstorms.

01:13So, there will be quick and sudden rains that will be experienced more often in the afternoon and at night.

01:18As for the temperature forecast for the neighboring cities here in Luzon,

01:21it will be around 24 to 32 degrees Celsius.

01:2534 degrees Celsius is the maximum temperature that will be experienced here in Tuguegarao.

01:30In Baguio, it will be around 17 to 24 degrees Celsius.

01:3533 degrees Celsius is the maximum temperature that we can expect here in Metro Manila,

01:4024 to 31 in Tagaytay, and 26 to 32 degrees Celsius for Legazpi City.

01:47For the rest of the country, due to the effect of the Intertropical Convergence Zone,

01:53or the axis of this Intertropical Convergence Zone,

01:56here in the western portions of Mindanao and also in Palawan, we can expect the rainy season.

02:02So, in Palawan, Zamboanga Peninsula, and in Bangsamoro or in BARMM,

02:07we will experience the dark season and it will be accompanied by scattered rains,

02:13thunderstorms, and landslides.

02:15For the rest of Visayas and Mindanao, we hope that the hot weather will continue,

02:20especially in the afternoon.

02:22And if it rains, it will be accompanied by isolated thunderstorms.

02:27Temperature forecast for Palawan today,

02:29here in Calayaan Islands, it will be around 25 to 32 degrees Celsius,

02:34and 33 degrees Celsius is the maximum temperature here in Puerto Princesa.

02:39For Visayas, for Iloilo, Cebu, and Tacloban,

02:43the maximum temperature will be 25 to 32 degrees Celsius.

02:49And for Mindanao, for Zamboanga, it will be 24 to 33 degrees Celsius,

02:54and the maximum temperature for Cagayan de Oro and Metro Davao will be 32 degrees Celsius.

03:01Yesterday, the 39 to 40 degrees Celsius heat index was recorded here in Metro Manila,

03:07and the highest was recorded in several places in our country,

03:11which reached 42 degrees Celsius.

03:13There in Subic Bay, Olongapo City, in Veracatando Annes,

03:17Dumangas, Iloilo, in Baybay Leyte, and also in Butuan City, Agusan del Norte.

03:22And for today, based on our forecast, here in Metro Manila,

03:26the 39 degrees Celsius heat index can be experienced,

03:29and the highest can still be experienced in Veracatando Annes,

03:33which reached 43 degrees Celsius.

03:35And it is followed by Dagupan City, Pangasinan, and Dumangas, Iloilo,

03:39which can reach 42 degrees Celsius.

03:43In terms of our ocean,

03:45we will not be affected by high waves or gale warnings in any sea or country of our country.
