A Jordanian national has been refused bail after allegedly attempting to open emergency exit door on a flight from Malaysia to Sydney last night. The court heard the 46-year-old man was travelling to Sydney on business intending to meet with government officials to discuss nuclear waste transportation.

00:37In his bail application, his lawyer told the magistrate his client took pseudoephedrine,
00:42a sleeping pill and also consumed alcohol before boarding the flight.
00:46He said the 46-year-old has no recollection of the incident.
00:50The court heard Mr Al Saideh is employed by the Jordanian government in nuclear waste
00:55transportation and was travelling to Sydney to meet with Australian government officials.

01:07Mr Al Saideh was refused bail with his matter scheduled for court again on Wednesday.
