00:13The Los Angeles protest was one of some 1,200 demonstrations that were expected to form
00:19the largest single day of protest against Trump and Musk since they launched a rapid
00:25fire effort to overhaul government and expand presidential authority.
00:29Well I've marched before when he first got elected a number of years ago and I still
00:35can't believe that he got elected again and I can't believe that he's tanking the economy
00:40and he's tanking the government and it's all being done for him and for Elon Musk and all
00:45the billionaires and everybody else.
00:48It's not for me.
00:49It's not for the people who live in my neighborhood.
00:51It's for all of these billionaires and I'm glad to see so many people came out today.
00:57I mean we need it.
00:59I want more people to show up and get him out of office.
01:02He's terrible.
01:03I've mostly, my plan for the second Trump administration was to stick my head in the
01:07sand and just not pay attention to what was going on because I feel so powerless about
01:13it but I've started to feel like what's at stake is our democracy and it's important
01:21to take a stand and not just silently let it happen.
01:29Demonstrators carried signs reading, Hands Off Our Democracy and Don't Trust Elon Musk
01:36and chanted Hands Off as they marched.
01:40Hours before the protests were due to kick off in the United States, hundreds of anti-Trump
01:45Americans living in Europe gathered in Berlin, Frankfurt, Paris and London to voice opposition
01:52to Trump's sweeping makeover of U.S. foreign and domestic policies.
