00:00And a lot of people were asking me,
00:01we'll go to the Dodgers here.
00:02A lot of people asked me about the Dodgers,
00:04and I was a little bit effusive with it.
00:08I was like, come on, there's no super teams anymore.
00:11I know they're really good and they're gonna win 100,
00:13but in the end, they're not gonna win 120 games.
00:16No one does that, 115, no one does that.
00:19And Seattle had that incredible year several years ago.
00:22But Buck, I gotta tell you, man,
00:24like I'm sort of regretting that a little bit here,
00:26and I don't wanna get too far ahead of myself,
00:28but they're finding different ways to win
00:30every single night.
00:31This is as close to a super team as we have seen.
00:35I don't know that we will see one in a couple of years
00:37with the new CBA coming,
00:38which is a story for another day here.
00:40But Otani on Thursday, you know, hits that walk-off shot.
00:44Their pitchers just throw five innings,
00:45and then they got these guys throwing sweepers
00:47and sliders at 98, 99,
00:49and they don't even need their guys
00:50to go deep into the game.
00:52Is this as close to a super baseball team
00:59as we've seen in a while?
01:00I'm a little scared to see these outcomes here.
01:03Well, seven games into the season,
01:05but the thing that would scare me
01:07if I was the opposition, not scared,
01:09would make me go, wow, this may play out.
01:11Is their depth.
01:13You know, the quality GMs are always saying, what if?
01:17What if Otani goes down all year?
01:19What if Freeman goes down all year?
01:21We used to say, J.J. Hardy in Baltimore
01:24breaks his leg in spring training.
01:26What are we gonna do?
01:26Because the season doesn't stop,
01:28and they don't, the other teams don't allow you
01:29to catch up until your player comes back.
01:32But what is challenging,
01:35because you're gonna have some issues along the way,
01:38is their depth and their rotation, their bullpen.
01:42That one would get my attention.
01:45I'm like, they are so deep.
01:47They're gonna be able to sustain something.
01:49You know, there are teams that are built,
01:50like that Mariner team, you remember,
01:52they were built for the regular season.
01:54There's really four times you manage as a manager.
01:56You manage in the spring.
01:58You manage in the regular season.
02:00You manage in September baseball.
02:02That's a different cat.
02:03And then you manage in the post-season.
02:05There's four different approaches.
02:07And unfortunately for the opposition,
02:10I think their team is gonna be able to stand
02:13all four of those quadrants.
