00:00There appears to be some confusion surrounding the sweeping tariffs announced by President Trump.
00:05Among the economies hit by the news on Wednesday is an Australian island,
00:09home to penguins but not people. The herd of McDonald Islands in the Antarctic has a
00:15population of zero humans but now has a 10% tariff for exports to the US.
00:21A tiny outpost 600 miles off of eastern Australia, Norfolk Island, has barely any
00:26exports but has received a separate higher tariff than the rest of Australia's 10%.
00:32The news has certainly baffled Prime Minister Anthony Albanese.
00:37Norfolk Island interestingly is I think 29%. I'm not sure what Norfolk Island
00:46major exports are to the United States and why it's been singled out but it has.
