00:00I thought it was pretty clear that in Wisconsin, which is always a bellwether state, there's
00:06tremendous concern and they're sending a message.
00:10They don't see the president's priorities as the way to go.
00:12What about Elon Musk's role in all of it?
00:14Do you think voters are sending a message to him as well because he seemed to go all
00:17in on that race?
00:19Certainly they're going to reevaluate their strategy on the basis of what happened there
00:23and him coming in.
00:24So today the president set to announce a whole spate of tariffs.
00:28How concerned are you about how these are being done?
00:30Well first I want folks to understand that these tariffs are economic poison for our
00:37country.
00:38They go from one community and off across the entire country and what you see is this
00:45jacks up costs for the American people.
00:48The number one issue at my town hall meetings, I've had 1100 of them and they've been mobbed
00:53over the last couple of months, is people are trying to figure out how to pay their
00:59bills.
01:00And the president said in that, I guess it was a grocery store, that I'm going to be
01:04back here and your prices are going down and in 10 days or so he walked it back and it's
01:10pretty clear that these tariffs are going to cause real pain for consumers and for small
01:15businesses and that's where we are, I guess we're waiting for 4 o'clock.
01:20Senator, what was your take away from Senator Booker's 25 hour speech last night and specifically
01:25from voters who want more from you guys?
01:28I think, and I spoke to him and posed a question, it reflected the urgency that I see voters
01:36bring to my town hall meetings.
01:38They always say, and I reflect this, what are you guys doing back there?
01:42What is actually getting done to for example make sure that you help people where the second
01:48word is bill.
01:49It might be medical bill, it might be rent bill, it might be food bill and Senator Booker
01:54brought a lot of energy and a lot of specifics to what we've been working on.
01:59Thanks Senator, we appreciate it.
