00:00Marcus Rashford has ended his goal droughts since falling out of favour with Ruben Amorim
00:08at Manchester United, scoring twice to help loan club Aston Villa reach the FA Cup semi-finals.
00:17Yet debate continues in the Manchester Evening News comments section over who is to blame
00:23for his dramatic decline at Old Trafford.
00:27Rashford was allowed to leave United in the January window to boost his summer transfer
00:32value, with Villa holding a £40m purchase option. However, after rediscovering his form,
00:40other clubs may also be tempted to move for him.
00:45A return to United seems highly unlikely after his rift with Amorim saw him frozen out of
00:50the squad. Since joining Villa, Rashford has impressed fans with his application and ability
00:57to trouble defenders across multiple competitions.
01:02He has produced six goal contributions in his first 10 games, helping Villa's push on
01:07several fronts. Despite this, former Crystal Palace owner Simon Jordan believes Villa will
01:13not make his move permanent.
01:16Jordan's comments follow Villa boss Unai Emery's cautious stance on Rashford's future after
01:22his man-of-the-match display in their FA Cup quarter-final win over Preston North End.
01:28Asked whether Villa had decided on signing Rashford permanently, Emery responded,
01:34Not yet. The most important thing is the challenge now. There is still work to do. He is adapting
01:42well, gaining confidence and scoring goals.
01:46However, Jordan remains sceptical that Villa will commit long-term, pointing to his wages.
01:53Villa are too canny and too wise. A loan is one thing, paying a small percentage of his
01:58wages for a few months, but committing to £300,000 a week plus a transfer fee, that's
02:05too big of a deal.
02:08With Rashford proving his quality once again, speculation over his future will only intensify.
