Police are appealing for witnesses after a van left the scene of a collision involving a bus on Leadwell Lane in Rothwell on Wednesday.

00:00On Wednesday the 2nd of April, West Yorkshire Police and the Yorkshire Ambulance Service were called to an incident on Ledwell Lane in Rothwell shortly after midday.
00:11A collision with a bus and a van then saw the bus coming to a stop when it made contact with a house.
00:17West Yorkshire Police have said the driver of the Luton van failed to stop and left the scene of the collision, prompting an appeal for information.
00:26The bus driver and multiple passengers received medical treatment for their injuries.
00:32Following the collision there was some congestion on nearby streets in Rothwell and Carlton as police blocked access to the road from both sides.
00:41Ledwell Lane was closed at the junction of Northfield Avenue and Stainton Lane, with motorists advised to avoid the area.
00:49Officers at the scene were only allowing residents to pass the cordon to enter their homes on foot, with all car access being suspended.
00:58Witnesses said forensic officers appeared to be patrolling the scene, but the road has now fully reopened.
01:05Yorkshire Ambulance Service confirmed that upon attending the incident a number of patients were checked over and discharged on the scene, with nine patients taken to hospital.
01:15The leader of the Liberal Democrats at Leeds City Council, Stuart Galton, who represents the Rothwell ward, said the road that goes between Robin Hood and Rothwell is usually quite busy,
01:26adding that the incident was a very serious situation and the road itself is quite narrow so it can be constricted.
