00:00Good afternoon. Here is the PTV news for today.

00:08Again, the government reminded us of the importance of being prepared

00:12and helping the various sectors in case there is a strong earthquake or tsunami.

00:18In the last briefing, the Office of Civil Defense said,

00:22under Secretary Ariel Nepomuceno,

00:25the government's continuous efforts in the National Simultaneous Earthquake Drills

00:31is also important.

00:33The role of local government units is also important

00:35to ensure that the structures are in accordance with the building code.

00:40The government also ensured the active participation of the public and private sectors

00:45to increase the safety and security of all.

00:50The capacity of the government, both in the national government and the local government units,

00:57we are ensuring that our colleagues will increase even more.

01:03That will be given the special skills, especially for the collapse structure rescue.

01:13So we have a lot. Our backbone will be, of course, the Armed Forces of the Philippines,

01:17meaning Army, Navy, Air Force.

01:20We also have the PNP, the Philippine Coast Guard, and the BFP.

01:24They are our backbone, plus the volunteers from the local government units.

01:28We are already used to a lot, but we will increase them

01:32to ensure that once needed, they are ready in terms of preparation,

01:37including the equipment and, again, the communications capability.

01:41And lastly, we are now leveling up public participation.

01:46We are already institutionalizing partnerships with the private sector.

01:52The government's program continues to provide decent income to our poor countrymen,

02:00according to Palace Press Officer and TCO Undersecretary Claire Castro.

02:05This proves the share of the DSWD of Php 375,000

02:12that the livelihood assistance is important to the beneficiaries of 4-Piece

02:16in a growing group in Santa Ana, Cagayan.

02:19Aside from this, the various uses, such as fish smoking machine, plastic bottles,

02:25and the construction of facilities that will serve the production of fish products.

02:31This assistance package will help to expand and strengthen the livelihoods of the beneficiaries.
