00:00Well, it's great to come back home and play in the stadium that you've grown up playing.
00:04It is exciting.
00:05First game in Bangalore as well.
00:06So we're looking forward to how it's going to act.
00:09And yes, the team is excited about how the tournament has started.
00:12We've done quite a few things well, we are trying to get better at a few things.
00:16So yeah, it is going to be exciting.
00:18Prasad, obviously, you're playing in the IPL now after a considerable break because of
00:23injuries.
00:25Coming back in, physically, you feel you're at the optimum best.
00:29Just take us through how you felt and how you've gone so far in the couple of games.
00:34Yes, as much as I try to tell myself that it's just another tournament, just another
00:38game, I did feel that I'm coming in after a few years and especially coming in not having
00:44played a lot of T20s in the last two years.
00:45The pace of the game has changed 2022 to 2025.
00:48So it did take some time, but then that's the game.
00:52I think it keeps moving forward and you have to keep up with the game and not much has
00:59changed for me physically.
01:00I have thankfully been playing some cricket now and the body is letting me do what I want
01:03to do.
01:08Prasad, you and Mohamed Siraj are pretty familiar to the Chinnaswamy picture.
01:19How do you think that will play an advantage playing against RCB in tomorrow's match?
01:25Yes, having played a lot of cricket here, you have an idea about what the pitch is going
01:29to be like.
01:30But no matter how well you know, I think it comes down to execution that day.
01:34It comes down to how the game momentum goes and if you're able to execute your plans well,
01:39I think you'll be more or less doing well in most kind of pitches that you play on.
01:49Prasad, obviously, tell us about working with someone like Ashish Nehra, who reinvented
01:54himself as a death bowler in the second part of his international career.
01:59You're somebody who has height and you hit the deck hard.
02:01Tell us a little bit about working on the other aspects of fast bowling and how you've
02:05gone about it.
02:06Yes, I think that's what I'm trying to get from him about what he thought about the game.
02:11Having played for so long and been so successful, I think it's really important for me to pick
02:15his brain.
02:16The conversations have been on similar lines about the decisions that you make as a bowler,
02:21the preparation that you would go into games with.
02:25Handling the situation, handling pressure, what would you do when you're coming up against
02:29a challenge.
02:30Those are the kind of things that he's been talking to me about and it is great.
02:33You learn different things from different people and this is what I get to learn from
02:36Ashish Nehra.
02:37Prasad, in Gujarat, you're a part of a very experienced bowling lineup.
02:42You have got Rabada, Rashid Khan and all.
02:44Sorry, sir, can you repeat?
02:45In the Gujarat team, you're a part of a very experienced bowling lineup.
02:49You have got Rabada, Rashid Khan, Isham Sharma.
02:53So, and you bowl along with them at the nets and in the match.
02:57So what do you learn from those experiences?
02:58What is the learning you're taking from them?
03:01Yes, that's one lovely thing about the IPL.
03:04We have a lot of great bowlers in the team.
03:05We have a lot of youngsters that have a lot of potential.
03:09So every time we get into the net session, there's so much for us to watch and learn
03:12from each other.
03:14And when you are together, you build a relationship where you go in, speak to people, find out
03:18how they approach the game, what are they thinking, what differently do they do compared
03:22to everybody that we play along with.
03:24So it is great to be rubbing shoulders with such experienced guys and also the new guys
03:30that are coming on.
03:33Prasit, can you talk a little bit about Shubman Gill as a captain?
03:38You know, when you go out onto the field, how much is he involved with the bowler in
03:44terms of field settings, what tactics to go with, and how much of it is planned beforehand
03:49and how much does he adapt on the field?
03:52Yes, there is a lot of planning that goes in before we get out on the pitch.
03:56But then the advantage of having somebody like Gill right there is that you can go up
04:01to him and ask him, what do you think is a better length to be bowling on this pitch?
04:07What would you do?
04:08So it's nice to have Gill and every other experienced player around.
04:12There's Joss that's keeping, there's Siraj, there's KG, there's this.
04:15Everybody has played a lot of cricket, thankfully.
04:17Shan Sharma also came in last game and helped.
04:19And as a team, if you can discuss, have the communication going, it really helps.
04:24And Shubman is a guy that I've known for quite some time now.
04:27And it's really easy for any of us to go approach him and get anything from his mind.
04:35Prasit, when you come on to bowl as late as you did, let's say, in the last game,
04:40how do you manage your mental energy until that point?
04:44Well, honestly, it was the first time for me as well last time.
04:47So I just tried to keep myself in the game, just be prepared every single over,
04:52because T20 is such a game that you're not sure about when you're bowling beforehand.
04:55It can just happen in the moment of the game.
04:58And then the only thing that I could control is making sure that I'm up and running
05:02and know the pace of the game so that when I come in,
05:05I don't really take that one extra ball to get into the pace of the game.
