00:00at more news coming out of the NFL owners meetings where some of these rule
00:03changes are being voted on and one that I actually like here the rule to change
00:07the kickoff. Now the dynamic kickoff is still going to be in place last year.
00:10It's much better than what we had previously where everybody's kicked the
00:13football out of the end zone. The anticipation was to start the season
00:16last year. Would teams have more actual special teams returns because other
00:21teams would not want to kick the football in the end zone, giving it to
00:2330. It's pretty much a mixed bag. Most teams didn't care, kicked it out of the
00:26end zone. You got the ball to 30. The adjustment comes this year, Mark Zinno,
00:30where instead of the 30 touchback goes to the 35. The anticipation is 33% of
00:35the kickoffs returned in 2024 should turn into 60 to 70% returns in 2025.
00:42Your thoughts on that
00:46again,
00:48this is stupid. Just go back to the regular kickoff. Like, I don't
00:51understand why we have to tweak every single thing. Okay, so
00:56in reality now, if I kick the ball out of bounds, it's the same thing is it's
01:02essentially the same thing as a touchback by five yards, right? You get
01:06the ball to 40 versus a touchback, which gets it at the 35. Like, why are we
01:11overemphasizing kicking? We should be de emphasizing kicking in every size,
01:15way, shape or form. Kickers suck that the worst humans on the planet. So
01:19let's not bring more of them into this game at all. Um, I understand you want
01:24more returns.
01:27I don't know how to get them for you other than just kick the ball off and
01:30let guys run it out. Like, do you value player safety or do you value football
01:34more? The NFL constantly sends you contradictory messages on what really
01:38is important to them. And then we just try to find some way to continue to
01:41tweak every single thing 15 times over because they make perfect the enemy of
01:46good.
