Gladiator Challenge veteran Brian Julian began the evening’s festivities in the opening round of action against the undefeated Emilio Chavez from the Body Shop Fitness Team. The match began with the two trading shots before the match was quickly taken to the ground. Julin secured guard, and although he absorbed some heavy punches, he almost ended the match early with an arm bar then and followed up with a standing guillotine choke. Chavez managed topower out of both holds and turned the tide. After gaining the advantage, he delivered a few power shots and quickly secured the rear naked choke for a victory just seconds before the closing bell for round one. This was a great round of action and both fighters showed tremendous potential for their MMA careers.
