00:00As tensions increase between the U.S. and Canada over tariffs, Canadians are starting to boycott
00:04coming to the states. That trend is troublesome given the United States already has a 51 billion
00:10dollar travel deficit. That means Americans are spending far more abroad than foreigners do when
00:14they visit here. According to a report from Jeffrey's, 72 million people visited the U.S.
00:19last year. 28 percent were from Canada, more than any other country in the world.
00:24But the Trump administration's new trade policies are having an adverse effect on U.S. travel and
00:28tourism. When asked to respond to the declining travel rate, a White House spokesperson said
00:33Canadians will no longer have to endure the inconveniences of international travel when
00:37Canada becomes our 51st state. The U.S. travel and tourism industry brings in more than 1 trillion
