00:18In a special market monitoring of the Department of Agriculture and Department of Trade and Industry

00:23in Mega Q Mart and a supermarket earlier this morning,

00:26it was found that the prices of the first-time buyers, especially rice, are going down.

00:32Especially on the first day of implementing the 45 pesos maximum suggested retail price of 5% broken imported rice.

00:39When we talked to the sellers of pork, fish, and rice,

00:46they said that consumers are buying more because the price of rice is going down.

00:52Although MSRP is not being placed in groceries,

00:55the price of rice here is also going down.

00:57When we went around before, the prices of rice were going up.

01:02Now, it's really gone down to 40, 45.

01:06Before, it was 58. Now, it's not 58.

01:08So, the price of rice is really going down.

01:12From 58 pesos last January,

01:14the MSRP of rice is slowly going down to 45 pesos per kilo for three months.

01:20A two-month assessment will be conducted to find out if it will go down to 42 pesos

01:26when rice retailers are not losing money.

01:28The compliance level of the maximum suggested retail price of pork is almost 30%

01:34since the first implementation of this in March 10.

01:37The DA and pork stakeholders will assist today

01:40to investigate where the problem of compliance has occurred.
