00:00Also, the latest on Oklahoma and a possibility of some exclusivity and the chance potentially
00:06to have a place that could house the NBA champions this year in the Oklahoma City Thunder with
00:11some sports betting there.
00:13Yeah, Oklahoma, one of the states that has not legalized sports betting yet, but has
00:17been trying to for the better part of the last couple of years.
00:20Recent news there, the House just advanced a bill that would legalize sports betting,
00:25but it would do it exclusively under tribal control, which is at odds with what the governor
00:30wants.
00:31The governor doesn't want the tribes to be involved at all.
00:33There's also another bill that would let the Oklahoma City Thunder, maybe future NBA champions
00:37to your point, have sports betting under their control, but also working with the tribes.
00:42They would have to figure out an agreement there.
00:44So what you have here is essentially a bunch of different people wanting to legalize sports
00:48betting.
00:49They're all on the same page.
00:50The state wants legal sports betting, but they're getting caught up in essentially how
00:53they do it, who's in control, who's in power, and a lot of money at stake there.
00:57So the governor is not a fan of the Thunder plan as well.
01:01He's been criticizing lawmakers for essentially not seeking his input, not involving him in
01:06the process.
01:07So we'll have to see if the bill can advance past the House and get eventually passed by
01:12the Senate.
01:13There is a chance it could override his veto, because he would definitely veto it if it
01:16got to his desk.
01:18But Oklahoma, we'll have to keep watching what they do there.
01:22It could be a state that eventually legalizes sports betting.
01:24But again, the competing interests, the tribes, the governor, everyone's got a different piece
01:27of the pie they want to grab.
