00:00We asked him what he was doing down here, and he said it's none of our business,
00:04and he's kind of gotten nasty towards us.
00:07Welcome to WatchMojo, and today we're counting down our picks for the most notorious times
00:13obnoxious, rude, and entitled folks teamed up, aka Karens and Kens,
00:19and had their terrible behavior caught on camera.
00:22I would never walk up to you and say those words to you,
00:26and I'm so sorry that that happened to you.
00:31Number 10. Recycle Couple. Recycling is important.
00:41But most don't typically go as far as Laura Siddall and John Mahoney did in March of 2021.
00:48The event took place in Askern, England, where the duo had one of their recycling
00:52bins rejected by the workers for sewaheads. Siddall and Mahoney had stuffed a duvet inside,
00:58which can't be recycled in that fashion, making things difficult for the employees.
01:03So, after arguing, the Karen couple attacked one of the refuse collectors,
01:09which was caught on the truck's CCTV. In 2022, Siddall and Mahoney pleaded guilty to the
01:16assault. They received 40 hours of unpaid work each and fines collectively amounting to £245.
01:24Number 9. Dine and Dash Attack. You don't get much more entitled than
01:29thinking you can dine at an eatery and then try to dip out on the bill. In 2024, the La Bella Vista
01:36restaurant in St. Leonard's-on-Sea, England, experienced this with the Karen couple.
01:42The duo made several unusual requests, such as stronger drinks and dishes off-menu,
01:49before complaining about the food and stating they wouldn't pay. With the staff not folding
01:54to their demands, violence was their next tactic. The couple attacked the workers,
01:59leaving them with several injuries, and even destroyed glasses and threw items around.
02:05According to the owner, the Ken threatened to use a kitchen knife. While the duo did manage
02:10to leave without paying, at least one party was swiftly apprehended.
02:15Number 8. Chipotle Chaos. 9.9 times out of 10, if you ask for an extra
02:29item in your meal, you'll have to pay more. Such is the way of the world. However, this didn't
02:35please Jamel Bernard Williams and Kayla Nicole Pyle. In late 2023, while at a Chipotle in
02:42Indian Land, South Carolina, the couple argued with an employee over the cost of extra chicken
02:48in one of their meals. The result was the worker being physically attacked by both Williams and
02:54Pyle before customers intervened. By the time the cops arrived,
03:05the hangry couple had fled. After the police put out a call for Williams and Pyle's whereabouts,
03:10the duo handed themselves in and were charged with assaults.
03:22Number 7. Train Tirade. In 2022, Liz Edelkind, her husband, her young son,
03:34and a couple of friends were going home after watching the New York Knicks play in 2022. The
03:39group wanted to get seats together on the Long Island Railroad train, so they asked other
03:44passengers if they would be able to move. This simple request sparked Justin Lickerman and
03:50Kristen D'Igisario to go off on a racist tirade, filled with all sorts of terrible language.
03:56Reportedly, Lickerman also threw a beer can in the group's direction. After the footage went viral,
04:09the duo handed themselves in to the police. As well as facing various criminal charges,
04:14Lickerman and D'Igisario were fired from their jobs.
04:26Number 6. Cross Neighbors. Warden Butler and Alexis Hartnett took being a bad neighbor to
04:41a whole other level with their antics in Conway, South Carolina. After a property line disagreement
04:47with Sean and Monica Williams, Butler and Hartnett began harassing the retired couple.
04:52On top of uttering racial slurs at them, they went as far as setting up a cross in their front yard,
04:58facing the Williams, and setting it ablaze. Even when the police arrived, Butler and Hartnett
05:08continued with the slurs. Unsurprisingly, this caused Butler and Hartnett to be given a temporary
05:13injunction that banned them from their house. In 2025, Butler pleaded guilty to harassment.
05:20He was sentenced to time served. At the time of writing, Hartnett's case is ongoing.
05:37Number 5. Confederate Karens.
05:51In 2015, members of the Respect the Flag group, including Jose Torres and Kayla Norton,
05:57drove through Douglasville displaying confederate flags and shouting threats at people of color.
06:02The racist parade eventually arrived at a child's birthday party, where an argument ensued and
06:08racial slurs were uttered. Torres pointed a shotgun at party attendees, and Norton retrieved and
06:15loaded the firearm for him. He then threatened the party attendees with it while other people
06:30in the groups also brandished weapons. Thankfully, no one was hurt. In 2017,
06:37Norton was sentenced to 6 years in jail, while Torres got 13 years.
06:41Other members also received various punishments.
06:52Number 4. Firearm Fury.
07:00During the George Floyd protests in 2020, no image left as much of a mark as Patricia
07:07and Mark McCloskey awkwardly pointing firearms at the protesters. So much so, it became a meme.
07:14The group had walked through a neighborhood in St. Louis, Missouri to protest outside the
07:18mayor's home. During the trip, the McCloskeys walked outside their property while armed.
07:34After the initial charges erupted into a national debate,
07:37in 2021, Patricia and Mark pleaded guilty to misdemeanor offenses, earning them a combined
07:43fine of $2,750. Shortly after, they were pardoned by Missouri's then-Governor Mike Parson. However,
07:50the Missouri Supreme Court suspended their law licenses but stayed the suspensions,
07:55placing them on probation for a year. Mark McCloskey pled guilty to a low-level
08:00misdemeanor, fourth-degree assault. He's got no regrets.
08:06Number 3. In A Lot Of Hot Water.
08:15In 2020, Philip Sarner and Emily Orbe visited the Quality Inn in Mystic, Connecticut when they
08:22discovered a problem – a lack of hot water. So they called the desk clerk Crystal Caldwell,
08:27who offered to switch their room or fix the problem. In response, she received racial slurs
08:33and threats. Later, when Caldwell was with another employee at an ice machine,
08:38Sarner and Orbe viciously attacked her, causing her injuries. On top of another employee calling
08:50the cops, so did Sarner, who claimed he was the victim. As well as being charged with assault,
08:56Sarner was also accused of issuing threats to Caldwell's lawyer. In 2024,
09:01Sarner failed to turn up to court due to being locked up for other legal issues.
09:11Number 2. Parking Lot Problem.
09:14Apparently, doing Karen-y things can be genetic. All Johnny Martinez wanted to do
09:30was his job, which consisted of checking parking permits at an apartment block in Nashville,
09:35Tennessee. One day in 2021, he was greeted by Bitsy and Edward Brennan, the Karen mother-son duo.
09:44The two questioned Martinez about why he was there, and Martinez pointed out
10:00he didn't need to tell them. The realization that Martinez was recording the interaction
10:05on his phone for protection sparked Edward to attack. The white couple then called the
10:10police on the worker. However, when the officers did arrive later, the Brennans had already left.
10:16When the video went viral, Bitsy was fired from her job at UBS, while Edward was charged
10:22with assaults. Before we continue, be sure to subscribe to our channel and ring the bell to

10:47Number 1. San Fran Karen and Ken.
10:57Since this incident, whenever we close our eyes, there she is, haunting us. In 2020,
11:04James Wanio was stenciling his support for the Black Lives Matter movement on his own property
11:11in San Francisco, California. A woman named Lisa Alexander quickly intervened, questioning whether
11:17he was allowed to do that, even claiming she knew the owner of the property. While this was going on,
11:32Alexander's friend Robert Larkin was filming and slipping in support for her. The backlash to the
11:37footage caused Larkin to be fired. It also saw companies cut ties with Alexander's skincare
11:43business. In the years since, Alexander worked with the crisis management team,
11:48criticized cancel culture, and issued a public apology to Wanio. Is Ken the best nickname for
12:01a male Karen? Or should it be something else? Kevin or Keith maybe? Let us know in the comments.
