00:00I want to start with this NBA deal with FIBA that they're going to start a EuroLeague.
00:08You know, I guess my question is this. I think that, you know, I play with a Ukrainian pro
00:15in the mornings. This kid's unbelievable. I've never seen anything like it. I think these
00:20players from Europe are like playing better basketball than American players. I think that
00:29we're seeing this infusion of Euro talent to the league that is really taking over the league.
00:35It's incredible. And you can talk about Luka, you can go Richie Shay, all of them. It's just
00:41never ending now. Is this why they're going there? Because like you hear coaches all the time now
00:48talk about these European players are more complete. Their games are solid. There's nothing
00:55that they miss. That they're coached right. They play right. They play the game right.
00:59And Americans don't. Is it true?
01:03It's true, but that's not why we're going there. Look, the NBA is going there because
01:07they want more money. Let's not mess around with this. This is always, always about the
01:12money with the NBA. If they start a league over, look, the domestic market is still what,
01:19especially with the new TV deal, that's what drives revenue for the league, right? Like that's
01:23the primary revenue source. But growth opportunities, Scott, I mean, how far can you,
01:30how much more can you get out of the domestic market? Internationally, though, that soccer
01:35market, the basketball market, I should say, in Europe is untapped. It's completely untapped in
01:40Asia. And, you know, they started the Basketball Africa League where it's still a really minor
01:45sport. The NBA is about that's the opportunity for growth. That's the opportunity for growing
01:52the brand, frankly. And that's what this is about. They're going to try to start a league
01:56in Europe that knocks the Euro existing Euro League kind of off its axis, takes over that space
02:01and monetizes that for the NBA. Is since Maury screwed up China, Silver's been trying to fix
02:09that Band-Aid, right? I can peel that back and get a relationship going with them again.
02:16He has. And it's it's gotten better incrementally. NBA is back on television over there. It's been
02:21back on streaming. It's kind of back to a normal situation in a detente for now. I don't know how
02:27fast they're going to grow over there, but that's a massive market. And the NBA is back on there.
02:32And it's still it's still got a big draw. If and when, frankly, when eventually there's another
02:40player from China or even that part of the world in the NBA, you know, already with the Japanese
02:46players, it's just huge when they come here with the Chinese guys who are sometimes just in the
02:51summer league. The media following is huge. So the market is still definitely there.
