00:00You've just literally moved in?
00:02Yes. Do you know this? I have a really bad memory so I do apologise.
00:07Monday you moved in?
00:08Monday. Monday I moved in and got started with it all.
00:12So I've done it quite quickly.
00:14I'm sorry, the last thing you want is all of us in your new homes. I apologise.
00:17Thank you for having us in here.
00:19I've tried to make it as homely and comfortable as possible.
00:22And the furniture? Is this your furniture?
00:25This is furniture that has all been helped with through Langston.
00:30She's helped me with all of this.
00:32Yeah, I would have been lost without her.
00:34I've been learning about how difficult it is to get furniture for social housing.
00:37I hadn't appreciated quite how tricky that is.
00:39It's a difficult one, yeah, it very much is.
00:42Because there's so many people who've got to be involved with it.
00:45So I then had moved out of that property that we shared and ended up in the city centre.
00:53I was renting somewhere and then a bad situation happened, without going into too much detail.
01:02And I then ended up going to the local council to ask them for help.
01:07And they put me in temporary accommodation.
01:09So once the council had made their decision as to whether I was legally homeless,
01:15this is how all of this came about.
01:17I had previously been in touch with Langston.
01:21And I had to give them the information that they needed.
01:23And they came back to me really, really quickly.
01:26How long were you in temporary accommodation for?
01:28I was in temporary accommodation for about seven weeks.
01:32It wasn't long, but obviously they put you on a list to where you should be housed,
01:39or how you can be housed, and that can take months.
01:43So had it not been for Langston, I would probably still be where they had originally put me.
01:49It's interesting to know your journey as to how you've ended up here,
01:52because it sort of all matters as to how you find yourself here.
01:55And how do you feel now you're here, now you can see where your home is?
01:59As I keep saying, I slept like a baby.
02:02We were in the same mattress.
02:04When you get to my gallery, that's it.
02:09In the Mattel house thing, it was the same people that made your mattress.
02:12The same people that made the mattress.
02:13And I've got insomnia and I slept all night.
02:16Honestly, I've slept like a baby.
02:18It's been a bit of a whirlwind, to say the least, but I so much appreciate it.
02:23If somebody moves into a property with nothing, then I can help to a certain degree,
02:28because we have our furniture project.
02:30But when Homewards swept in, it was just fantastic.
02:35The difference that it's made between what Kelly would have had to move into
02:41and what she has moved into is chalk and cheese.
02:44And why is that? What things have been made easier or doors have been opened for you?
02:48The doors that have been opened are all of these lovely companies
02:53so generously donating all the furniture that you could possibly need.
