00:00Ohio State's Trevion Henderson is the running back that could sneak into the end of the first round that no one is talking about
00:05Here's why
00:10Ryan should we be talking about Trevion Henderson more as the second running back drafted in this class? I
00:16Think so, man. I think so after Ashton Jeanty, which is almost a consensus view in the NFL
00:21I do think there's a conversation obviously about a Marion Hampton from North Carolina
00:24But I think that Trevion Henderson needs to be in that conversation
00:27Conversation from people that I've talked to and from just the evaluations I've done because he brings a completely different
00:33Profile to the table comparative to like in a Marion Hampton
00:36He is one of the guys in this class that has juice that has explosiveness and can hit a home run anytime
00:42He touches the football. I think that where his value comes into play is for an offense
00:47That's specifically looking for a guy that can play and contribute significantly in a committee
00:53You're trying to get somebody to play off of the strengths of maybe a bruiser that you already have on your roster
00:58That's exactly what Ohio State did this past year
01:00Quinn Sean Judkins killed you in the short area and then Trevion Henderson
01:03You gave him a little bit of space and he gashed you. This is a spark plug
01:07This is a home run hitter Trevion Henderson is so explosive and fun to watch and that's what's gonna make him dangerous as a prospect
01:15Well, and we saw it very early on in his career
01:17He was utilized heavily at Ohio State and he was a thousand-yard rusher right off the bat as a true freshman
01:22Now he dealt obviously with some injuries during the course of his career, but we have seen when he's healthy
01:27He's one of the most explosive players in all of college football
01:30I mean you think it obviously that late first half touchdown against, Texas this past year, right?
01:34Like this is one of those kids that in a blink of an eye
01:36Can create something short and create a home run out of it in an instant
01:41And I think that honestly in the NFL today that is a lot more committee approach
01:44You might be more willing to take a guy like this early
01:47Allah a Jameer Gibbs at number 12 overall to get him a part of a committee because you know that his dynamic ability he
01:54Brings to the table is something that you it's kind of hard to find at times in NFL circles
01:59The big weakness for me with Henderson is that he's just any speed back typically is the case
02:05It's just not really strong enough to break tackles
02:07He's one of those guys where he sees contact and he goes down pretty quickly
02:11Any other weaknesses that you think could could hold him back? I
02:15Think that it's just the durability stuff like we've talked obviously about him being banged up
02:19We'll have to see what the medicals are. I haven't heard anything negative about it
02:22So I think that everything is kind of checked out on that capacity
02:25But yeah
02:25I think that the short area broken tackle extra effort stuff is not gonna be necessarily his bag on the NFL level
02:32But if you want to speed back a guy that can also catch the football pretty well
02:35And by the way, we didn't talk about this in the strengths
02:37But he was a really good pass blocker this past season for Ohio State as well showed huge improvements in that in that department
02:43But I think that there's not a ton of
02:46Negatives just the negatives are maybe something that will affect him for being an every down ball carrier or a bell cow on the X level
02:52His background Henderson was a super highly recruited kid. He was the number one ranked recruit in the 2021 class
03:005-star 11th highest rated prospect in that
03:04Recruiting group what else is there to know here about trivia and Henderson? Yep. Hopewell, Virginia guy
03:10Obviously, Ohio State doesn't dip into Virginia a ton in terms of recruiting
03:15But he was the number one back in that in that great class for Ohio State a few years ago
03:20So it made sense that they went down and made that happen. But it's a general very easy one Joe. I mean
03:26Stop me if you've heard this before Ohio State got a five-star, right?
03:30Like there's an there's an easy reason why they were continuously a very elite program on the college level and just won a national championship
03:37He was a part of that tremendous group of JT Tomala and Jack Sawyer and all those guys
03:42That were another huge reason that they were they kept that group together
03:46Which helped them win a national championship. That was one of the underrated things
03:49We talked about all the portal additions this past year, right? They went and got Caleb downs
03:53They went and got Quinn shot Judkins that Seth McLaughlin
03:56But the reason that they were able to really get things over the top was they found their quarterback and they kept that senior group
04:03Together and trivia and Anderson was obviously a huge part of that success for Ohio State
04:07Closing us out here with our pro comparison
04:10I love this one Raheem mostert who has been
04:13Dynamic and impactful for two different teams now the Miami Dolphins and the San Francisco 49ers
04:18It was in brief spurts and he went it up being an undrafted kid
04:22But Henderson does have a chance to just jump in and immediately have a much sooner impact than most hurt
04:29But why this also works really well as we explained at the beginning
04:32He was a guy who was a secondary
04:35Rotational player within an offense you get Henderson. He is going to play off the strengths of another player
04:40You're gonna use him in specific situations to create and threaten defenses. That's why this comparison works. So well, I
04:48Mean the styles are just so similar as a runner most heard is listed at 510 205 pounds
04:52So they're right around the same the same spot
04:53I mean 204 pounds is what was what Travion Henderson was at the combine?
04:58They are one cut-and-go type of backs outside zone heavy scheme would be their best area
05:03But I would even argue that
05:05Travion has a better all-around
05:06Profile than what most are did right like most or wasn't a guy that was gonna stay in and pass block and that type of thing
05:11So think Raheem mostert with a little bit more pass blocking upside a little bit more ability
05:16Maybe play three downs on the NFL level some durability concerns as well
05:19Like we've seen where we most are really struggle with injuries during his career
05:22I don't think it's quite to the same degree that
05:25Travion's had as far as like Draven's been more like small durability stuff not like major injury
05:30But some durability concerns based upon their play styles and just that's just them being a little bit of a smaller back
05:35But they are dynamites and a home run waiting to happen again
05:39Every time they catch the football and Travion heads in a little bit more three down upside as well
05:43Folks let us know in the comments. What team do you want to see take Henderson and hit that like button and subscribe?
05:49We'll be back with more
